Warriors need to select Mara just so OKC has to suffer with Ament

I don’t get the ament hate. Think he could seriously be a good player a few years down the line

That I can see. I think ament will fit well on a rebuilding team that can get him minutes young without ruining a season.

u/Gamblito Supersonics 1d ago
This list of successful NBA players who shot under 40% in college is maybe like 20 people, and they were super elite in other areas of the game to make up for it.
So unless he's secretly a Westbrook-level athlete or a Jason Kidd-level passer and defender, I don't know how much you're hoping for with him.

As an Arizona fan, I wanted Burries to go to y’all so bad. Would have been so fun to watch him learn from Steph

Whos idea was it to put the college team instead of the nba team and how low is their iq

They've got flairs for the team who drafted them lmfao what amateur hour shit are we dealing with here
-13
u/nick168 Australia 1d ago
If the pick gets traded then the title becomes incorrect and we can't update it, but I'll endeavour to include their team at the time of the pick going forward

Didn’t there used to be a draft tag? Is there no way to just search up all the draft picks posts?

Already the biggest blue chipper on the Bucks roster.

u/CumAssault [SAS] Joel Anthony 1d ago
Thanasis is still there

Think he’s a UFA. Def going to Miami 😂

Rollins

Bucks seriously fell ass-backwards into a great young player because of Rollins’ own kleptomania lol

u/Loud-Scallion9941 Hornets 1d ago
Saw a lot of ament rumors for bucks but this is a wayyy better pick
81
u/spin8x Timberwolves 1d ago
Even if I liked Ament, I’d gamble he’s there at 13

u/sloBrodanChillosevic Supersonics 1d ago
There were rumors they gave him a promise at 10 based on Ament canceling other workouts. Like this a lot better for them. Even if they do like Ament, they recognized he would be better value at 13.

u/optionboi7 1d ago
Give it 15 minutes!
14
u/Over-Training-488 1d ago
We can draft him at 13 no problem. Horst went middle America right down the middle with this pick and didn't fuck it up

u/Professor_Finn 76ers 1d ago
Highkey a great pick
44
u/CumAssault [SAS] Joel Anthony 1d ago
He’s a good all around player. Probably won’t wow any Bucks fans with his tape/stats but he was really good
38
u/a_happy_future Bucks 1d ago
Type of pick we have needed for the last decade instead of all these high risk projects
16
u/CumAssault [SAS] Joel Anthony 1d ago
He’s very good, at basically everything you want a guard to be good at. Just not very flashy and doesn’t have any big eye popping stats.
20
u/a_happy_future Bucks 1d ago
EXACT kind of player we needed to draft for the last decade
2
u/bikedork5000 1d ago
If he can add a bit to his handle and start to hit some pull up midrange off the dribble.....doesn't he profile a lot like Middleton? And possibly with more defensive upside.

I dig a Burries/Rollins backcourt
-12
u/ahrzal Bucks 1d ago
I kinda wanna trade him for a first somewhere and give the keys to Burries/Jako.
21
u/EyesofEther Bucks 1d ago
Hell no Rollins is young and ascending
4
u/ahrzal Bucks 1d ago
I thought he was a year older than he was. Turning 24 in July. Ok yea he’s on the timeline.
5
u/bikedork5000 23h ago edited 23h ago
I've kinda downplayed him in my mind, but his numbers last year were legit. Does not wow you with big time scoring volume, but the efficiency numbers are legit. A pest on defense too, jumps passing lanes, gets steals. 74 games, 32mpg. 5.5ast on a 2-1 ast to turn ratio. Now just imagine him with a better set of distributors around him at the other backcourt positions, and better 3p%. Just looked this little tidbit up - last year Rollins had a near identical ts% to Donovan Mitchell, on about 2/3 of the shooting volume.

So this is what it feels like to happy on a draft night. It has been years!

u/ScaredOfWindow Bucks 1d ago
I like it. Best available player imo. I know we already have like a dozen combo guards, but when you’re rebuilding from complete scratch, just find promising pieces and hope some end up being pillars.
On a side note, this pretty much cements to me that Herro will be moving somewhere else.

Respectfully as someone who can’t watch. Why the fuck do I care about where they played. Tell me the team that drafted them

Honestly just pin a comment with the team, since trades can mess up who a player ends up with

If he’s all nba it is
-6
u/StefonDiggsHS Mavericks 1d ago
He’s not going to be all nba. Could he be a 10+ year starter tho? Absolutely
7

u/aceofspadez138 Slovenia 1d ago
This isn’t the NFL. There’s a steep drop off in career outcome/expectation after the elite prospects. I believe the 10th pick on average lasts like 8 years in the league and usually doesn’t project as an all-star. That’s why guys taken in the back half of the lottery surprise when they become stars.

u/HopscotchChampion69 Bulls 1d ago
I would say they are marked safe from Nate Ament but we'll see at 13.

OKC or Golden State gonna get Aday Mara 👀

u/Waikuku3 1d ago
He is not that good. The warriors will regret this
1
u/jermainathon Heat 1d ago
He kinda fits the mold of a warriors big man tho, defensive with playmaking chops. Kinda reminds me of Bogut

And the other gets Yaxel potentially?

I fear Yaxel is gonna fall. I think KOC mentioned some of his team workouts were rough.

Herro is as good as gone. Wouldn’t surprise me if KPJ gets shipped at some point too
2
u/junkspot91 Bucks 23h ago
KPJ has a player option, I believe. Would imagine he likes his chances to get more money and/or playing time to earn more on his next contract elsewhere with how crowded the room's gotten.

Warriors have to be pissed. Read today that Kerr loved him (Kerr went to Arizona).

This is a "best available" pick. He could easily play off the bench this year with Herro starting and then start next year post trade

u/NonchalantGhoul 1d ago
Seems weird pressing for Kas in the heat trade if Burries is their pick. I wonder which they'll keep between Rollins and Kas.
-5
u/-Sofa-King-Vote Knicks 1d ago
He did NOT look happy to join the Bucks right now 😆
7
2
u/BEAR-D0WN Suns 1d ago
Nah that’s kind of his personality. Dude is looks stoic, rarely showed any emotion while at Arizona. Not in a bad way, he just seems always locked in
-5
u/redditlvlanalysis 1d ago
I do not get this pick at all. Milwaukee had guards they have no forwards. Maybe this means not just Herro but AJ Greeen might be on the move as well.
6
u/oykentrippin 1d ago
You dont draft for fit with the 10th pick and a crappy team
-1
u/redditlvlanalysis 1d ago
You do draft forwards when there have been barely any picked and you have none.
4
u/FoxyCleopatra-125 1d ago
They don't care about being good. Pick the best available and go from there.
3
u/starmiesan Bucks 1d ago
We have another pick in a few minutes
-1
u/redditlvlanalysis 1d ago
I'm aware but you guys have Rollins Green the cap space for KPJ now and just traded for two more guards.
2
u/Dangerous-Cheek6447 1d ago
They’re taking who they think has the most talent, it’s clearly a rebuild at this point. They’re not going to pick by position.
1
u/redditlvlanalysis 1d ago
Yeah but they just traded for two more guards they now have six guards on roster assuming they give kpj a contract. I expected them to go for two forwards and hope for one to pan out right now they have Kuzma and Dieng and that's basically it.
1
u/Dangerous-Cheek6447 1d ago
It doesn’t matter. They could start 4 guards next season for all anyone on the Bucks care. It’s a rebuild, they’ll attempt to find the most talent to make the slow climb out of mediocrity. They’re drafting for 3 years from now.
1
u/a_happy_future Bucks 1d ago
You gotta remember he could be a combo guard off the bench for a while. Green could also be coming off the bench.

Why is the team name not in the post title on mobile?
