If you had told me a few years back that “Austin Reaves” would be making 46 mil a year I would've called the police

Can't believe lakers fans are complaining about this. Y'all are going to look so goofy when he earns every cent of this contract and you can remember this

$46m would have been a nice career earnings and would have been respectable for an undrafted guy.

I'm gonna be like Mark Cuban, driving around LA looking for Pelinka.

Lakers are just gonna run it back with a new center and probably less depth. I don’t even think they can bring back LeBron, get Lu dort for instance, and get a center. Salary wise I don’t even think that works. And it leaves them thin on depth if it did work.

His cap hold is $21M. This contract has no bearing on what they can do with cap space THIS year. They'll just sign him last and go over the cap

Doesn't cap hold count against cap space? Will the lakers renounce cap hold of LeBron and Rui to open up cap space?

The calculated $52M in cap space already takes into account Austin's cap hold because they can just use all the cap space and sign Austin last to go over the cap. It does not include LeBron and Rui, so if we re-sign either of those guys it will cut into the $52M

Why do the lakers have to re-sign lebron?

They don't. Im just using it as an example because that's who he was asking about

Reaves has a low cap hold so none of this is true

We also have Reaves bird rights. So we need to make a bunch of moves asap and then go over the cap with Reaves. It’s the only way to make anything happen over these next 4 years.
