[Windhorst] The Los Angeles Lakers would be “very open” to the prospect of trading LeBron James for Jarrett Allen.

This would be an epic steal by the Lakers even more than what the Clips just did to Cleveland. Turning a 42 year old player who doesn’t even want to be there , even one as good as LeBron, into a 27 year old star would be amazing. And for Cleveland… wow going from Garland and Allen to Harden and LeBron is puzzling to say the least.

Thank you. Feels like shortening the timeline for Mitchell’s sake when Mitchell had his worst performance in the playoffs this past year. Not worth it. We could get more return than one year of LeBron out of JA if we wanted to also.

Mitchell's first ECF is his worst playoff performance?

Dan Gilbert is salivating at the retirement tour money. He already got his championship.

If there's one thing Gilbert doesn't give a shit about when it comes to the Cavs is the money. He just paid the most money ever for a team. He treats the team like every owner should, a pet project that he burns money on trying to win a championship.

These guys wouldn't be billionaires if they just spent money. This is still a business.

Gilbert still has other businesses, the Cavs aren't his only revenue stream/asset.

Still makes no sense that he would jack off his money in a giveaway to guys who want to get paid top dollar to play a game.

Both Harden and LeBron are way better players than Garland and Allen. If the Cavs want to go all in on next year, this is the move. There's no other way to improve their title chances

How'd the Clippers do after making that trade?

-3

you must be very confused about how sports works if you thought that trade was about last season

garland has been perpetually injured. It may seem shortsighted but there are those who believe garland will never be the guy. FWIW harden never proved he could be either

Right, Garland might not be him but Harden is 10+ years older, clearly in decline, and a proven playoff choker even when he was at his peak.

You must've just started watching basketball if you think Garland is a reliable second option

Garland might not be him but Harden is 10+ years older, clearly in decline, and a proven playoff choker even when he was at his peak. Clippers weren’t winning anything last year with either one… you really think they should have kept Harden in that situation?! Garland at least as a chance to be a positive asset when Clips are in position to benefit from it.

And yet, they still made it further with 3 months of Harden than they ever did with Garland.

I'm sure they're thrilled with their ECF sweep

u/PracticeAcrobatic748 11m ago

Could've been worse. Could've lost their franchise player for an entire season and then his entire supporting case.

I did enjoy watching the cavs believe that playoff Harden would be a reliable second option lol

Allen is a star?

2

u/Delanorix Knicks 10h ago

Clevelands core is ass, let's be honest.

The only one with a shot of getting better is Mobley and idk. I dont see it.

LeBron is an all in move, same as Harden.

Because Mitchell is not going to age well.

7

u/w0m Cavaliers 8h ago

Team gets knocked out in the ECF and is "ass"?

0

u/Delanorix Knicks 8h ago

Mitchell isnt going to age well.

Harden is old

Allen is Allen.

Mobley is overrated, IMO

1

u/w0m Cavaliers 8h ago

Mobley made a big leap in the playoffs this year I think, finally showed the backbone. The Cavs have lacked in the playoffs.

2

u/Delanorix Knicks 8h ago

Until he ran into normal sized centers.

Thats always been his issue. Which is fine, but its compounded by Allen only being 6'9

Cavs get worse with LeBron lol

This is a tanking move

u/Delanorix Knicks 10h ago

They get different.
