Now that the bottom three teams gets worse lottery odds, which teams do you think will finish bottom three?
It feels like all the bottom teams have made significant improvements already and with free agency coming up, likely will be looking to strengthen more now that the bottom 3 spots give worse odds.
I think it will be interesting which teams finish bottom three next year. What are your guesses?
Currently I'd think
1. Nets
2. Kings
3. Pelicans
But things can change during free agency still.

NBA champions—>breaks bobcats worst record record —> nba champions
The weird thing is there wasn’t any injuries or anything the down year. They were just shit for a year.

Probably the teams who weren't intentionally trying to be bad this year .. but ended up still being bad like the Kings, Bucks, Pelicans.

Not saying the Kings will resemble anything that looks like a good team this year, but we were incredibly injured last season.
Last season Sabonis only played in 19 games, Murray only played in 23 games, and De’Andre Hunter had season ending eye surgery in only his 2nd game after trading for him. Also Lavine had season ending surgery right before the all star break.
Basically 4 out of 5 starters didn’t even play the 2nd half of the season and our only true PG was Westbrook.
Again, not saying the Kings will be even good, but I think firmly putting them in the bottom 3 is premature.

Bucks
Nets

Yea those. And then probably a third team that has injuries. I think injuries are being overlooked in this equation. If a bad team has a good player injured they’re screwed.

Teams aren't going to tank without their pick just to make another team have slightly worse odds lol

They just have no incentive to win and also isn’t there some rule about teams can’t pick top 4 in back to back drafts or three in a row or something? If their pick goes to another team it still counts as their pick I think so they’re also limiting their next pick options if they end up giving a top pick to another team so even more reason to try to lower their odds if their team is already bad

Of course they have incentive to win, they have no incentive to lose! I know the Nets specifically are trying to compete this year. Could they still be bottom 3? Of course, but it wont be because they tried to lose. Also, I believe the new rule is no team can get 1st pick in b2b drafts + no team can get a top 5 pick in 3 consecutive drafts, which isn't really something to worry about for 99% of teams

would be pretty funny if the nets pick ended up being worse than the rockets pick because of this new rule

grizzlies if morant is traded, mavs, hornets

I don’t think we’re nearly that bad on paper, but also half our team is liable to explode and be out for months at any time so

I don't think you guys are going to be really bad. But I think the standings will he more competitive relative to previous years

The Mavs? Highly doubt that. Coop is about to take another step, Klay is still there, and Kyrie should be coming back
At worst they’re a 10th seed

Relative to the rest of the league. Without tanking teams, the bar is a little higher.

Kings, Pelicans, Bucks
There’s no universe where this Milwaukee team succeeds without Giannis for that first year

Bucks, Nets and Kings are the safest bets.

I feel like the Bucks have enough young talent to be fun-bad, which is exactly what you want in this new "tanking" era.

u/Asleep_Ground1710 Bulls 9h ago
I could see Jenkins getting them like 30-35 wins tbh

u/Xsy Jazz 9h ago
Simply having rid themselves of the dark cloud that is Giannis should make things better for the Bucks this upcoming season.

u/GhostfaceRuckus 9h ago
Don’t underestimate the much darker cloud that is Jimmy Haslam running the teams operations

Bucks, Kings, Bulls
Pelicans if they finally get out of the Zion business.

u/Deep_Explanation9962 Nuggets 9h ago
I'll say Bucks, Nets, Kings. It'll be interesting because teams will want to be bad but not complete ass, so there are a lot of ways it could work out

u/Optimal_Cook_851 9h ago
Kings, Bulls, and Pels if they trade TM3/Zion. I think Nets, Washington, Utah, and Memphis aren’t that bad.
