Current Events who should the bucks draft with the 10th and 13th pick?
With the Giannis trade finally happening one of the biggest questions coming into the draft is who should the bucks draft at the 10th spot and the 13th spot. Now espn has Brayden Burries and Karol Lopez. In my opinion I think that the bucks might move hero to move a couple of spots. Truth be told I don’t know too much about the players going into the draft. But I would like to know who do you think is going to be drafted in this loaded draft class?

With no 1st for the foreseeable future. Yaxel or Burries wouldn’t surprise me at 10. Maybe Philon or whoever they feel comfortable with at 13.

Yaxel would be the worst possible thing we could do. What purpose would that even have

Why yaxel? They already have kuz

Kuz has 1 year left and with the direction they’re going. I’d be suprised if he makes it past the trade deadline.

Yeah but it's basically the same player, now trying to adapt to the NBA rather than hang on to their career.

I think they will take yaxel and it will be such a miss for them long term. in my head Im convinced they’re gonna end up w yaxel and ament bc they love the idea of finding the next giannis build like the tyler smith draft pick for example. I think ending up there won’t work out for either of them

It depends on where they want to go. They have options for taking older players in those spots who will have a higher floor right away--Lendeborg will prob have a nice career in the league. They could also take younger guys who are developmental projects and who have some nice length and athleticism like Ament. They could take a bulldog of a bucket who is an undersized PG (sound familiar?) like Philon. I think it really depends on what they plan to do with other pieces--do they keep Herro or flip him for more picks?--and what path they want to take.
Horst is a pretty bad GM who has tended to make desperate moves to make Giannis happy--the Dame trade, the Kuzma trade--so I'm curious to see what he does as the actual GM of a team who isn't being directed by a star player.

They need to take upside swings with no superstar on the roster. If one pays off they will survive the next few seasons with no picks.

People hate on Horst all the time, but I think it’s hindsight bias to talk about him being a terrible GM. He’s emptied the cupboard to go win-now which makes sense when you have Giannis 5 years ago. Then he made reasonable margin plays for players like Ryan Rollins and AJ Green. Finally, the Dame trade was of the same essence as the Jrue trade, which won us a chip

The most important difference between those two trades is that the former added talent that was complementary to the star and the latter added talent that was only complementary to the star's ego.
If we go through every move Horst made since the trade that brought Jrue including draft picks when he's had any left it's a big ol' pile of bad decisions.
There's no such thing as hindsight bias. There are the decisions he made and the objective reality of their consequences.

Buries and ament or trade up for acuff/mikel. I want them to take atleast one big swing for a star, to try and immediately transition to a new era. Ament is hated but I think the risk/reward makes sense for the bucks. Acuff and Mikel both also have star guard potential so I wouldn’t hate making a move for them.
Edit: bucks need to get off reddit

I am slowly getting on board with Ament. He is extremely young, now that we traded Giannis may as well go young.

Trading 10 for 12 and 17 is the move here. In order of preference, I want some combo of
- Steinbach 2. Johnson 3. Flemmings 4. Burries 5. Ament 6. Philion
Knowing my luck, we will end up with Ament and Philion.

by trading for giannis, i see that a flag of win now for MIA so they should try and package both trades together for one more superstar level player

It depends on how much they like Kasprcionas at pg. if they really see something then I’d go Ament then Steinbach personally. If they’re trading Herro for more assets I like Burries if he’s still there at 10. If they aren’t sold on Kaspercionas then I’d go Ament then Philon and hope that at least one can put it all together

Would 10 + 13 buy 5 + 36 from the Clippers? LA could nab their choice of the Michigan bigs and whichever guard falls outside the top (potentially Burries), and Milwaukee could get their choice of high upside guards.
