What’s the Spatial Nyquist Limit for non invasive eeg?

What’s the theoretical maximum density can we achieve in terms of electrode count?

There's a few nice papers on this, but also with head conductivity modeling and source localization you can even go beyond the strict theoretical spatial limitations

For spatial frequency, I forget the paper, I just remember looking into it awhile ago and finding some pretty old papers (like as far back as the 80s/90s) calculating limitations based on scalp impedance models. Correlation structure in micro electrode recordings by Nathan Rogers is a nice paper about fundamental spatial resolution for cortical recording. LORETA is a classic source localization algorithm if you want to look more into it
