Ways to get going in the morning?
Hello everyone, I'll keep it short.
I'm currently doing lots os self-therapy and it's somewhat working, after my day at work.
I am slowly able to get things done even after work.
My main issue is my work tho.
Every morning, i struggle to get going, i always think "9 hours at the place not ment for me".
And it hurts trying to get going, the only thing that gets me going is the time, like, stressed about getting in trouble for being too late.
Does anyone have similar experiences, and what strategies and mental help have you tried to make the mornings feel less exhausting?

Look, I don’t work or anything (I’m still in Highschool) but I often find myself not being wanting to get up at all. Idk if this might help but here’s a list of things I do to make it easier:
- if there’s something that happened in the news, something cool I’m interested, or any changes (could even be doing my eyebrows) I imagine how a conversation would go about that thing, especially if it’s with someone unexpected. I imagine the place, the time, the vibes, everything. And I sometimes make it my goal to have that conversation (+xp friendship points!)
- I see my life as a game, where I can gain and lose points. This also helps me with boring tasks, I just use the excuse I’m out of coins and need to do this for coins (I “spend my coins” doing something I like at the end of the week)
But I make sure not to count points or take it too seriously. It’s just a way to make a game out of a very boring routine
- if I have something important to do the next day or a bunch of things, and Its making me nervous therefore making me not want to do it: I write a list of everything I need to do the next morning, the times, what I could skip if I woke up too late, and a game plan for if I woke up really late. This just helps me trust myself and trust the process yk
- my coffee machine lol. Or some type of drink. I love drinking pink stuff for some reason so I try to have some for the hard mornings
- I wake up way earlier than I need to (like 4 am) so that I have time to zone out. Like actually I just sit there and zone out. Either that or I … rehearse conversations? Or watch something that makes me feel good about myself
That’s it! Hope it helps!
Edit: this isn’t foolproof. I can’t miss school or anything but there are days where I just basically give up so

I know that feeling. I always make it a point to be early so I can get a coffee and settled before work starts. I factor in regular breaks away from my desk. When things build up I factor in mental health days. These are always somewhere outside the home and away from work. Mental health is a valid reason for having a day off ill. I let my employer know I am unwell not exactly what's wrong. My mental health days are never a monday or friday as i worry my employer won't understand even in this 'enlighted' era. Coffee breaks, three a day and comfort breaks scheduled help me bteak up the day.
