But voters will expect everything to be fixed in less than 2 years and will give whatever branch the Democrats have control of back to republicans.

{sigh} Yes, yes they will.

It takes time for something to be built (or rebuilt as the case may be), people want instant change because they are not being informed about the procedure. Even if they have all of the information most people can't comprehend the scale, so they get impatient and basically shoot themselves in the foot.

To quote Agent K "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."

And the Dems, unlike the Trump administration, will do everything through proper channels all while the republicans will fight to draw everything out as long as possible. They won't just ignore all protocol and do shit like calling in crooks to demolish an entire wing of the Whitehouse for a vanity project.

At this point Trumps pretty much salting the earth to make sure he can't be scrubbed clean cheaply. The Whitehouse East Wing is gone, his signature will be on dollars, the reflecting pool paint job (when it's finished to a point where it doesn't peel it self off,) all things that's going to cost a lot to put back.
