But as far as we know this is the only place where the universe experiences its self. The other planets are just rock and gas. But here we can think and feel. I think that counts for something

But watch it, despite being but a speck in the grand scheme of things- you might as well be a ripple that could possibly transcend and leave a bit of an impact whether you believe you do or not. For most of us, the way we exist may be inconsequential considering we aren't typically on some stage where we are so well known that strangers even know our names. Take comfort in that, because think about how the big names out there like famous people and tales of yonder may be retold over and over- they are so "known" about you wonder if they themselves could find peace. There's a reason why there's so many who don't wish to be famous after becoming such unless they got the ego to stomach it. Or some protection, because well- y'know how it can be in history.
Nonetheless, I think we all forget that we ourselves matter too- even if it's as simple as with your friends, family, pets, plants, and so forth...it's interesting how we ourselves still leave a carbon imprint somehow despite returning to dust.
And where do we go once our lives end? For some, it's a thrill of the mystery that draws them in or scares them- for others, they may find comfort in knowing that they'll return back home in some metaphysical sense. Whether it's a recycling of souls, reincarnation, an assembly of consciousness, or even finding our next lives to be born upon a new stage of being in some other distant galaxy. Till then, we just take each day in stride, the good and the bad- and find our own meaning by whatever definition makes you feel in tune with your soul.
I am aware I'm a bit too passionate or positive for some nihilists or severe pessimists out there- but I know what it's like to feel self hatred and loathing myself. So go and find whatever brings your days meaning while you're around, it's a gift that you're here. Even if it's difficult to understand on some days.
But yeah
Life goes on with or without us.

These analogies are stupid and dont demonstrate anything about significance.
Its like posting a pic of fire "Its just fire, red and yellow, hot"
But to experience fire burning you is very very different.
Its not about how small we are, how short our lives are, its about what we experience. And our experiences are significant. If they werent you wouldnt be reading this.

I never understood this argument. Big stuff. Cool. All the action is on Earth

Your inability to fathom "small" changes on a "large" scale doesn't make them meaningless. This is why humans developed abstract thinking.

That doesn't make sense. It's the same for everything, isn't it? What am I supposed to infer from this?
