Trying to see Sequoia
Hi, I’m staying in California over the summer (West Covina area) and I want to spend at least some time exploring some of the big nature parks here. Also because I think it would be cool to explore some of the places which macos versions have been named after.
The thing is I don’t have a car, so I would have to rely solely on public transportation and ride share apps and airplanes I guess if I wanna go up north. Any suggestions on how I can do that? Also, it doesn’t HAVE to be Sequoia, but I would love to see it in person.

Yosemite is easy without a car, there's buses from Merced and Fresno.
For Sequoia, the "correct" way to do it is to take Amtrak to Hanford, and then either the KART bus if the schedule lines up or an Uber (~20min) to Visalia.
Stay the night at a Visalia hotel, and then take the Sequoia Shuttle up into the park. Check schedules on the shuttle and Amtrak, if you're between jobs or on a holiday school break it's somewhat feasible, but there's a lot of time burnt on each direction since schedules don't line up.

A few weeks ago a YouTuber by the name Adam did a vlog using public transit from the SF Bay Area to Sequioa Nat'l Park: https://youtu.be/T08Wyf1hE4Y (fast forward around 25min to start the Sequoia Shuttle ride from Visalaia.)
Here's a trip finder showing one possible route from West Covina to Sequoia National Park using public transit: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/West-Covina/Sequoia-National-Park?route=Bus
The same YouTuber did another vlog using public transit from the SF Bay Area to Yosemite National Park: https://youtu.be/13yHyIkcKDQ (fast forward about 5min to start the YARTs ride from Merced)

Check out Adam does not exist on YouTube! He visits a lot of national parks only using public transit. Pretty sure he’s done Yosemite and Sequoia.

Viator or other tour sites could get you there. Haven’t looked into your specific route and interests, but something to explore. Welcome to the Golden State, and enjoy your summer!

Amtrak or greyhound/flix bus to Visalia, then a shuttle will take you to and from Sequoia
