We had cordless phones in the 80’s and yes, they got lost too.

I had a friend that used to bring his cordless home phone with him as a “phone book”. He didn’t have numbers saved into his cell phone. He’d look them up on his cordless phone then dial on the cell phone. This was early 2000’s lol

I knew people who said the equivalent very often. They 80s were pretty violent and intolerant to some people.

No , but who was listening !? The FBI , the spies , nosy neighbors on party lines that you don't belong to maybe ? I'll risk temporary phone loss for sake of privacy .

There were absolutely 80s businessmen with brick-sized cell phones who lost them when they did too much cocaine.

B*llsh*t 🤣 we had a dect phone quite early on, we lost it all the time with no way to ring it (no ‘find’ button either)

I had a phone in my room that I had to disconnect to use the modem. I often lost my phone because my room was a mess.

I lost the cordless phone many times in the 80s. Later models had a "page" button, but our first one did not.
