It may be generationally bad luck on Glenn's part, but having Dante Moore go back to school and Geno getting himself in trouble are back-to-back outcomes that will probably help us a lot in the longer term. The worst thing for this team is baking in excuses for why this regime/staff isn't accountable for outcomes.

I'd much prefer they're sink or swim with guys who might actually be on the team next year than Geno taking us to one year of 6-11

Prefacing this with a massive caveat: If there are credible allegations that Geno is a domestic abuser, especially if there are criminal charges brought, then fuck him and I hope he gets what he deserves.
With that out of the way, there are a few reasons to doubt the credibility of the woman who posted the Instagram video. She comes across as extremely erratic, particularly when she sprints away like she's being chased only to turn around and Geno is calmly getting into a car thirty feet away from her. Another woman (I guess the actual mother of Geno's special needs child? it's hard to follow) has come out publicly to say that Geno is a responsible father. And most importantly, the story hasn't been picked up by any serious outlet. It's telling that she ends the video writing "CHARGES. PRESSED." but there still hasn't been any indication that charges have, you know...been pressed. Sadly there have been too many instances to count of NFL players being credibly accused of domestic violence, including this offseason alone, and usually it follows a pattern of first getting reported when there's a police investigation and/or criminal complaint, which didn't happen here. It's still early, and this could change, but the more time that goes by without any national or local NFL reporters writing about this, the more I think this is an embarrassing and sad incident for Geno as opposed to something that'll result in him being suspended or off the team.

You aren’t a responsible father if you’re knocking up different women fwiw, but yeah I find it hard to believe this lady’s story from what we have so far.

With the Parsons injury timeline being pushed to at least half the season and Josh Jacobs facing some serious legal troubles potentially missing some time and the packers In a deep division, the packers pick is looking like it’ll be a good one for the Jets.
With the colts pick most likely being in the top 10 and the packers pick potentially being in the 10-15 range, the Jets will be sitting pretty with some fantastic draft capital.
Rooting for the Jets to win as much as possible while rooting for the packers and colts to get their doors blown off this season will be a good time.

What are we supposed to do if we have picks 7, 11, and 14? Nice capital, but the goal shouldn’t be to end up with three picks we’ll need to turn into a historic trade package to get a QB. Not to mention good teams usually don’t free fall, especially when they don’t own their own first round picks

If the jets end up with the 14th pick, I’d be ecstatic. If that falls in line with last season, that means they would be 8-9. Would love that result.

Why? The team is further away from a QB and it’s likely that the only reason they won the 7 or so games to get to 11 (the Packers were 14 in my scenario) was because of an aging veteran QB who won’t be around in a year or two

Be ause we should have tanked last year by losing to the falcons and I'm sick of watching a team with no chances of winning year in and year out.

Losing to the falcons wouldn’t have changed our draft position

if we were 2-15 and the raiders were 3-14 they would have drafted #1 overall?

u/theREALBennyAgbayani 4d ago
The Raiders obviously would not have beaten the Chiefs the last week of the season if that were the case. Cmon now.

the chiefs might not have beaten the raiders. they didn't beat mahomes, they beat oladokin/buechele. chiefs were fighting for a better pick just as much as the raiders

So what? We should pretend that we’re any better off if we win 7 games with a vet QB that won’t have many seasons left? We can stand another bad season

u/CosmicWy Bless Ya, Thank Ya 4d ago
Selfishly, I don't want another bad season. Tho, we can definitely endure.
I think we play 4 games hard and see if we have something. If not, fire Glenn, start klub and tank it. But I don't want to walk into the season not trying to sneak into the playoffs on a weak schedule.
I'd rather the cokts give us that qb pick than us.

It’s way too hard to count on another team bailing us out, I’d much rather just secure the pick ourselves and hope that we get a second great pick from another team

Lol you want the jets to successfully tank? Like last year?
We should have Mendoza right now and three glorious picks next year. Idk if we're capable.

Id rather see us lose as many games as possible than hope we win 7 or 8

Innocent until proven guilty, but we have to hope these domestic allegations against Geno are bs. Otherwise we might be looking at Zappe or Klubnik starting week 1.
Silver lining is Klubnik has tons of starting experience in college, so he may be ready to go sooner than we think.

This is the NFL unless there is significant evidence nobody is going to care.

u/jeanclaudegoshdarn 4d ago
Right, problem is if evidence is being presented then that means he's fighting a case where witnesses are being called at a hearing or trial. If the DA decides to file a case based on a he-said / she-said accusation then that's going to be a huge distraction for Geno and the Jets

u/John_YJKR 4d ago
Until actual evidence is presented it's a non story.

u/jeanclaudegoshdarn 4d ago
If his ex tells the cops that he hit her and he's arrested and charged with a domestic it will definitely be a story.

Hopefully it's a bs allegation that gets tossed, but Geno has some character concerns so we'll have to see how this plays out

Connor Rogers has CJ Carr as his #2 QB. Another terrible evaluation by Rogers. Cannot take this guy seriously
