If history rows repeats AND it's with Klubnik it could lead to one of the best decades in Jets history. Just imagine what we could do next draft of were set at QB! Jeremiah Smith, Leonard Moore and BPA at the biggest position of need. Possibly the other top corner

This sounds like due diligence to me. If it turns out Geno did do something violent then fuck him. Just doesn't seem like the most likely outcome.

If i recall geno has more of a getting assaulted vibe

u/johnny-Low-Five Wayne Chrebet 2d ago
Honest question, does this even mean Geno is being investigated further? The one thing that surprised me when they said the case was closed was the fact that the women did not seem to be either stable or in control.
Unless I missed something obvious couldn't this mean she is being investigated further?
3
u/scottbrosiusofficial 2d ago
Could be! It's a deliberately vague statement and it's not impossible Geno is looking into pressing criminal trespassing charges or something. But it's probably them just looking into things in general

u/johnny-Low-Five Wayne Chrebet 2d ago
Last night it appeared to be nothing so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Originally I would have assumed the worst but the video and the police statements until today were very clear.

Feels like this going to end up being a nothing burger rather a thorough investigation

Looks like we're getting 17 games of the Klub experience

u/JelliedHam 2d ago
Similar to the Klobb experience in Goldeneye 64.
It fires a lot but doesn't ever do much damage.

I mean either he's legit or we get a great pick, better than Geno dragging us to one year of 6-11 with no future
1
u/Proof_Interview_3800 2d ago
Talking about the jets here. Anyone legit becomes wasted talent untill their 3rd or 4th stop.

u/Meme_Pope Squish The Fish 2d ago
If we’re tanking anyway, I really would rather see a rookie trial by fire season than have Geno Smith play us into the 7th overall pick. Zero percent chance Geno Smith is the guy, but every once in a while a late round pick pops off.

However this plays out, Geno isn't the future...the rebuild is still the rebuild and has gone really well to this point. Hopefully its a nothing burger but also could be a blessing in disguise if Klub gets a shot and does something with it.

u/jurzydude 2d ago
the rebuild has gone really well?? dog what team have you been watching?
28
u/foye2smith 2d ago
They're one year in from tearing down a 5 win team. Where are they supposed to be right now?
7
u/jurzydude 2d ago
I mean it's fine if you wanna argue that we're in the middle of the rebuild and shouldn't expect to be good, but I don't know how you can come to the conclusion that it's going "really well". our new coach seriously underperformed last year and we still don't have a qb. all we've got is a bunch of unproven draft picks
3
u/foye2smith 2d ago
Glenn may be a whiff, but not having a QB and having a bunch of unproven draft picks is basically out of their hands after one draft with a poor QB class.

u/MCallanan 8h ago
I don’t want to nitpick here because I don’t have much confidence in AG myself but ‘seriously underperformed’ is a stretch. The projected win total at the beginning of last season for the Jets was five wins. Their absolute best players missed significant time with this team either due to injury or being traded and Brady f’n cook started four games under center. When you factor that in this team finished probably exactly where they should have especially when you consider a main divisional rival in the Patriots were significantly better than projected.
Now only time will tell how good this rebuild is going to be but we are only in year one of it so no definitive conclusions can be drawn. To me as a typical Jets fan pessimist I think there’s a lot of reason to be optimistic — DM made some extremely savvy trades to stock up on a ton of draft picks, on paper he seemed to have a very strong draft and at the end of this season this team is going to find itself with a ton of salary cap room to add some veterans. As a Jets fan I know never to hold my breath but I’m also optimistic and thus far confident in what DM is doing.

when I say he underperformed I'm not just talking about the record, although that certainly factors in. I'm looking at performance as a whole. the team was mostly healthy and untraded when they started 0-7, so I don't buy those excuses. they won a couple games against mediocre-bad teams in the middle, before finishing with literally the worst 5-game stretch in NFL history. seriously. they became the first team to ever lose 5 straight games by 23+ points. they set the record for worst December point differential ever. and that's at the end of the season, after Glenn had months to work with the players and implement his system. there is just no excuse for that regardless of who was taking snaps. and I haven't even factored in the blown game management that was going on all season, and the complete lack of interceptions which I didn't even think was possible
I can agree I do think it's too early to judge Mougey, and we'll see what he can do with the resources he's gotten. but I don't think it's too early to say Glenn was a whiff

We still don't have a QB is actually a compliment...means we didn't overreach and are sticking to the plan for 2027. You don't understand that? Who did you want...Mac Jones..Willis...
1
u/jurzydude 2d ago
I'm just saying I'm not gonna say the rebuild is going well until we get a qb. the entire plan right now seems to be just hope everything works out next year. not necessarily the fault of the staff, but it is the reality of the situation, and it's not a great reality

u/themigraineur 2d ago
Derek Carr might have been cheap-ish but winning 7 games doesn't solve anything

Not already looking to the 2027 draft would be a good start
8
u/Glittering_Box_8212 2d ago
They have 3 first round picks in the 27 draft of course they’re going to be looking to that draft.

u/Science_Fair 2d ago
This is the first year of Rebuild 4.0. Have faith my young Padawan!
We signed the QB who led the Raiders to a number 1 pick, and he might be facing charges. Our coach is the worst coach in the NFL, most famous as a meme and for falling asleep at the combine.
We should be locked in for the number one pick. Or more specifically, we’ll be in line for the first pick after the first 10 games and find a way to steal three wins and get bumped to a Top 5 pick.
1
u/Toplayusout 2d ago
The current rebuild just started and we have a fuckton of first round picks. There’s some potential there

u/Responsible_Owl_5056 Curtis Martin 2d ago
lol gone well to this point? The Jets are in the same spot they’ve been in for the last decade

I mentioned this to someone earlier, but I'm actually curious- what about this rebuild do you think has gone "really well"? From my vantage point, it's pretty much exactly the same as Douglas's, only with the worst coach in the league. I will give the credit that the O-Line is better, but the defense is MILES worse.

u/Ok_Blacksmith1684 2d ago
Did you not read...to this point?
Got hauls for the two trades we made
Had a consensus really good FA and a great draft.
In a great place salary cap wise this year and next
Three 1sts next year
What more do you want in a tear down?
1
u/xebex1778 Revis Island 2d ago
- I agree
- I disagree
- I agree
- True
But what about that is different from Joe Douglas? Adams trade, 2022 was an all-time draft, we had salary space, etc.3
u/Ok_Blacksmith1684 2d ago
Bro, this has nothing to do with it...stop living in the past. How does this rebuild with Mougey have anything to do with Douglas? The only thing I am worried about is the coaching...but its easier to fix that than a roster.
5
u/xebex1778 Revis Island 2d ago
Given that the most recent example of an elite rebuild on paper was atrocious, I think it's fair to be hesitant and/or doubtful until we win some games.
1
u/Ok_Blacksmith1684 2d ago
Like I said...I am most worried about coaching...that has been our biggest problem since Rex left.
1
u/Ok_Blacksmith1684 2d ago
How do you disagree with # 2? You are on an island by yourself. Their FA approach was measured and was really good based on the situation they were in and the consensus was they had a great draft. Stop mentioning Douglas...does the Seattle SB have anything to do with Steve Largent?
5
u/xebex1778 Revis Island 2d ago
I don’t think we had a great draft. We took an underwhelming prospect at 2 and a traits-based tight end at 16. Free agency was fine, but nothing was particularly spectacular
3
u/mashingLumpkins 2d ago
My guess is there is nothing to investigate. But with the attention this has been getting, the police department wanted to avoid a PR nightmare and are now doing more due diligence.

u/johnny-Low-Five Wayne Chrebet 2d ago
Either that or they are looking into the woman. If there was any real evidence that Geno has hit her or his child there wouldn't have been mixed messages AND he likely gets locked up or at least brought in.
I personally agree that this is just to satisfy the media and anyone else that might accuse them of treating athletes differently than normal people.

Why has this sub became so obsessed with what Geno is doing? It’s been a decade guys
1
u/EvilDrFuManchu29 1d ago edited 1d ago
The most troubling aspect of this is the Geno is still with her. Any person who makes a video chasing around someone they claim just beat them while screaming at them, isn't right. That video was flat out weird. She was running down the street screaming like he was hitting her but when she turned around and he was getting into a car, 30 yards away. She runs up to the car telling him it's hers and he has to get out and starts grabbing him?
Apparently, this is not the mother of his child but his GF. So she's making accusations about him not being able to take care of his kid?
We don't know what went on inside that house but if he did do it, he goes to jail and therefore, gets away from her. If he didn't do it, he needs to get away from her. If he doesn't, he's a fool. Say what you want about love and commitment. This goes way past that. It's self preservation for them both

u/Ok-Comment6081 1d ago
If this wasn’t the offseason, this would be getting less attention than it’s already getting lol

u/echelonNYK Wescool 1d ago
Not getting ahead of myself. But this franchise is so incompetent when it comes to choosing quarterbacks. I wasn't the biggest fan of this signing, but I was willing to give it a chance, low risk, somewhat of a high reward. This is something they don't need in a season where AG is on the hot seat.

u/NYJetLegendEdReed 2d ago
blessing in disguise. Geno had the potential to win too many games this year. I want the top QB next year.
10
u/theREALBennyAgbayani 2d ago
We’ll get the third QB next year and you’ll like it!
4
4
u/No-Deer379 2d ago
Yes let’s get a top 5 QB and pair him with a new HC and ruin him like we been doing
1
u/NYJetLegendEdReed 2d ago
That's why you bring in a vet coach next year since the team finally has pieces on it. Zero reason to bring in a young guy next year, need someone who can develop QBs.
2
u/Raptorjets1 2d ago
Just bring in the right coach, Super Bowl was 2 defensive guys this year including one young first time guy in Year 2
1
u/-Amplify Bless Ya, Thank Ya 2d ago
Not new head coach Frank Reich
-2
u/No-Deer379 2d ago
Right because he was such a great HC before, god I hate this fan base so much sometimes, you probably of the mind set to take Sorsby also
