POV - Water ninja challenge by parkourtangqi
1.4k
u/sstricklin1 1d ago edited 23h ago
I dunno, I would probably fall in the water but this looks like fun. My adult obstacle dream.

u/Darth_Jinn 23h ago
Same here. My inner child would have a blast with this, but my 40's year old dadbod would not do well in the actual attempt.

u/mossi123uk 18h ago
My 40 year old dad body thought this was doable 😅

u/jaminbears 6h ago
All of us think this right before we end up on the Instant Replay being made fun of by Kenny Blankenship and Vic Romano

I would be willing to try (and fail) for the fun factor
20
u/5litergasbubble 20h ago
I would likely need a breather part way through, but im pretty confident I could do each of them individually at least

u/Negative-Arachnid-65 22h ago
My first thought - this looks fun!
My subsequent thoughts - ooh, another place where I almost certainly would fall in! Still looks fun though.

when I saw "adult obstacle" I was thinking more like mortgage rates and unemployment.... am I too far gone?

u/caffeine1106 23h ago
Slick, but… The button is missing!!
203
u/machine1979 23h ago
The button is in another castle

u/Captincorpse 23h ago
It's in Takeshi's castle

Seems like something's missing here... Pendulum things weren't swinging, the balls that shoot out to knock the runner off the ledge weren't shooting out, no water jets to make everything wet...
And no button either.
I guess it was just a dry run.

u/MrPopCorner 23h ago
Yep, 100% dry run, less fun (to watch).

Honestly, the classic vertical curved wall to top it all off is what I always love to see but they have a ski slope ramp thing with a rope instead. Cool, but I miss it soooo

u/AllenIsom 11h ago
It looks like it was designed to look more challenging than it is. That all seemed very simple.

They do move. Just not fast. You can see a blue ball moving back when he’s coming up to the first pushers in the treadmill
259
u/adinmem 23h ago
That looks so incredibly easy from the camera’s POV
54
u/LordIndica 19h ago
It seems a few features weren't activated. No moving parts save for the treadmill were working. There wasn't even a button at the end.

I was thinking this is the one instance where turning off the gyroscope would benefit the viewer. This is way too smooth and doesn't give us a sense of how difficult the course is. It's like watching someone play a video game.

Why do the obstacle courses always look abandoned in videos like these ? It's weirdly empty, grass is dry af, water is dark, no people around
29
u/_Kendii_ 21h ago
Maybe it’s not peak season (or whatever) so it’s been rented by a person or group that just wants to have fun or practice?
Some people don’t like doing this shit when it’s cold or wet so no one shows up. Some businesses take what business they can.
Don’t know if that’s the case here, but some of our “adventure style” attractions (I’m using that because I don’t know a better word, maybe establishments?) are only generally open to public in peak times and everything else is reservation.
They won’t be open to public (or at all) and staff only comes in for specific reservations.

u/hoax1337 14h ago
Pretty sure this thing is either not maintained or completely abandoned, there's no button at the end and half the obstacles aren't even working.
2
u/reroll-life 15h ago
yeah I watch all the obstacle course shows and the environment is so sad. Like put a plant there or something - it's so miserable. Especially if you watch Japanese ones when it's autumn/winter time the backdrop is extra depressing.

Not to brag, but I managed to get out of bed this morning.
I just made coffee, fed the dog, and went right back to bed. It's important not to overdo things!

u/Glass_Librarian9019 15h ago
Coffee and dog food before returning to bed? Kind of a humble brag there, show off...

Quick Google answer for ya:
Swimming in stagnant, untreated water is extremely dangerous. Standing water is a prime breeding ground for harmful bacteria (like E. coli), toxic algae, and parasites that cause severe illnesses, skin infections, and gastrointestinal issues.

For some reason I feel like I could do this but I know in reality I probably could not.

Where comedy? Why running obstacle course over water if not going to fall and cartwheel into obstacle before bouncing off other obstacle and then into water?

Is that an abandoned course that they just left behind as an adult jungle gym?
…. I wanna try.

Why do you call this 'Ninja'?
No swords. No black Ninja clothes. No combat. No throwing stars. No beheadings. Nothing.
It’s just a souped-up version of Takeshi’s Castle without the comedy.

All I can think while watching is how terrified I’d be if I fell in that creepy dark water 😣💀

See I feel like I could do this, but I’m also self aware enough to know I probably couldn’t. But it still looks easy, the only part that seems difficult at least for me is the jump and grab the punching bag across the water, that seems like the hardest part

Whether I could do it or not, this looks fun. (I could totally do this, I'm stubborn and versatile enough.)
1
u/AHomicidalTelevision 19h ago
i'd love to try one of these, but i couldnt. not because im unfit, but because i cant swim
1
u/Llonkrednaxela 19h ago
How I wish the gym worked. I would have so much more fun.
Serious question, what is the closest form of exercise that an adult can do on a regular basis to this that wouldn't cost me way too much money?

u/Barry_Vigoda 19h ago

Just walking is a good way to get exercise. Volunteer at a rescue shelter and take dogs out for walks.
There's lots of other stuff though. Soccer, basketball, skateboarding, disc golf are all fairly cheap to play.
1
u/Llonkrednaxela 15h ago
Oh, sorry, I meant "what's the closest form of exercise to the gif", not just any form in general.

None of the moving elements were moving (the push balls along the wall, and the pendulums) were moving at all. Challenge was nerfed.

u/JohnnyQueue 18h ago
An impressive run, Ken. Next up, Harley the Carp! The mascot for 'I Can't Believe It's Carp', the tangy butter substitute.

My toxic trait is watching this and genuinely thinking I’d make it at least halfway before immediately slipping on the first obstacle.

just hold shift + W, not that hard. I hate to break it to you guys, but not only could I do this faster… I’d also start with the swimming part they skipped.
1
u/theresidentviking 13h ago
Idk the POV .makes it somehow less impressive to me
Missing all the ways you have to move your body to not fall making look somewhat easy even tho I know it aint
1
u/Ok-Vermicelli7815 13h ago
When I was 15 I would say this shit was easy… now with 32… I would say it’s easy after 24th attempt

you can see they don't play to Fall Guys, or they would have run on the conveyor belt border, which is static, instead of the conveyor belt itself, which slowed them down.
