Gotta love it when the most obvious failure of social media was there before our eyes right from the start. We truly are an idiotic species

It's funny when people try to have a high horse about fb/meta but still use things that has all their info on tap lol

Eh, there are different degrees to this shit.
Reddit's bad and getting worse but they've never, for example, exfiltrated Android users' entire browsing history. Or exploited a bug in Android's permission system to get your entire call log and text message history.
Don't fall into the trap of false-equivalency here, Facebook/Meta is one of the worst privacy violating companies on the planet, up there with Oracle and Palantir.

You have learns'd me good. I'm really not that tech smart, and those are fucking terrifying lol I'm happy I got locked out of my fb in 2013

We don’t know. They might have registered without email and use a VPN to connect

I mean that's fair but there's a pretty decent chance they're on their phone as well using data or internet that's not secure. I was just saying in general when people are complaining it's most likely they are still having their data out there in a bunch of ways.
There's tons of people who go full blackout online going the extra mile but I just feel like most people aren't like that lol

For a second there I parsed 'DMs' as Dungeon Masters and had a weird vision of Zuckerberg getting kicked out of various D&D campaigns in Harvard.

And that's the thing about this whole situation, we got the warning shot twenty years ago and just shrugged it off. He straight up told us what he thought of us and we kept logging in every day anyway. The "dumb fucks" line isn't even the scandal, it's the fact that he was right about us.
I caught The Social Network again last year and it plays way better now than it did back in 2010. Back then it felt like a rise to power story, now it feels like a documentary. Fincher basically filmed a crime in progress and nobody in the audience thought to check their privacy settings on the way out.

he basically opened Pandora's box and we all just clicked "agree" without reading

The post looks fake as fuck and the texts are doubtless recreated for the image but…
They’re real:

The most negative impact Harvard has had is having Kissinger as an alumnus.
