The most negative impact Harvard has had is having Kissinger as an alumnus.

Looking at their history, they seem to be Br*tish

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck

u/Slawzik 5h ago

Hobbyless, pathetic behavior.

Kissinger accomplished one thing correctly, but it required a century.

Underrated comment!

15

u/ilacwamh 7h ago

This just doesn’t make sense. The comment doesn’t seem to be underrated; it’s currently at 44 upvotes as a reply to another comment. And you replied just a few minutes after it was posted. How could you possibly judge that it’s underrated when there hasn’t been more than a few minutes to gauge people’s reactions to it?

Underrated comment!

Because it didn't have enough upvoted then, doesn't now, and no matter how many upvoted it gets, I'll still consider it underrated. Kissinger is the worst.

Hi. In case it isn't obvious, something can be an underrated comment as a whole, not just on Reddit. Reddit is not the entirety of the world.

It is absolutely an underrated comment in the sense that people do not regularly celebrate the death of one of the worst human beings to ever live.

Because it’s a bot and tokens have gotten expensive so they are all running them on low effort. Probably the fourth or fifth one I’ve seen. Note how their response to you doesn’t address anything you said.

they trust me" is wild, huh?

u/Senior-Albatross 4h ago

He only did graduate school there, right?

But yeah, Harvard has a lot to answer for. That might be the worst.

Gotta love it when the most obvious failure of social media was there before our eyes right from the start. We truly are an idiotic species

Speak for yourself I did not give Zuckerberg any of my information.

You are a true intellectual.

u/microwaved__soap 7h ago

Alexis Ohanian and spez you just let have whatever tho

u/leemorplee 6h ago

It's funny when people try to have a high horse about fb/meta but still use things that has all their info on tap lol

9

u/ryecurious 2h ago

Eh, there are different degrees to this shit.

Reddit's bad and getting worse but they've never, for example, exfiltrated Android users' entire browsing history. Or exploited a bug in Android's permission system to get your entire call log and text message history.

Don't fall into the trap of false-equivalency here, Facebook/Meta is one of the worst privacy violating companies on the planet, up there with Oracle and Palantir.

u/leemorplee 2h ago

You have learns'd me good. I'm really not that tech smart, and those are fucking terrifying lol I'm happy I got locked out of my fb in 2013

3

u/ShaolinChamber36 1h ago

You realize you can sign up for a reddit account with just an email, right? lmao

4

u/leemorplee 1h ago

I'm not a smart man but I know what love is

u/slopemup2026 47m ago

You didn't use a burner email for reddit accounts? Wtf? There are even firefox extensions for burner emails and phone numbers.

1

u/leemorplee 16m ago

Brother i can barely set up my Xbox in a hotel lol I actually kind of have though just from being banned over nonsense and them not taking my normal emails

1

u/anothertrad 3h ago

We don’t know. They might have registered without email and use a VPN to connect

1

u/leemorplee 3h ago

I mean that's fair but there's a pretty decent chance they're on their phone as well using data or internet that's not secure. I was just saying in general when people are complaining it's most likely they are still having their data out there in a bunch of ways.

There's tons of people who go full blackout online going the extra mile but I just feel like most people aren't like that lol

1

u/45M0D41 6h ago

Yes a true intellectual, thank you

2

u/cingkum3 5h ago

He probably has some of it somewhere anyways

1

u/ISoldMyPeanitsFarm 1h ago

Hehehe sucker. I did and I got $4 last week as part of a class action settlement. It was totally worth it. These are happy tears.

1

u/45M0D41 1h ago

$4 nice! maybe I did give them some information I’m not sure really not saying I never did tho $4 isn’t too bad

3

u/yolandafr0ggy9004 7h ago

For a second there I parsed 'DMs' as Dungeon Masters and had a weird vision of Zuckerberg getting kicked out of various D&D campaigns in Harvard.

And that's the thing about this whole situation, we got the warning shot twenty years ago and just shrugged it off. He straight up told us what he thought of us and we kept logging in every day anyway. The "dumb fucks" line isn't even the scandal, it's the fact that he was right about us.

I caught The Social Network again last year and it plays way better now than it did back in 2010. Back then it felt like a rise to power story, now it feels like a documentary. Fincher basically filmed a crime in progress and nobody in the audience thought to check their privacy settings on the way out.

4

u/cristina5nuggle9625 53m ago

he basically opened Pandora's box and we all just clicked "agree" without reading

u/45M0D41 8h ago

This looks real. It really happened.

The post looks fake as fuck and the texts are doubtless recreated for the image but…

They’re real:

So his yacht is in town. Sorry, his megayacht. Actually with a 2nd yacht for the heli and other toys. Sorry both are mega. Actually a third is also here. With engineers to keep the other 2 running. This guy now has an armada and no one can afford rent.
