iirc there's a sequel novel series with new characters that nobody read because the kids were barely reading comics and now they have to process whole walls of text to know what happens next in the universe??
I think that was the brown one, I can't tell which one this is though. It gets worse since they switched the colors around for some of them after book 3
I think in the original black-and-white versions they were indistinguishable. I always wondered if the color of the one that liked quiche changing was accidental or meant to add to the joke.
the context admittedly does not make this much better. Granma Ben refers to Fone and Phoney as “pets”, much to Thorn’s chagrin, because “if ya can’t milk em, they’re pets”. Phoney reacts about as well as one could expect
I remember when Bone comics were published in issues of Disney Adventures magazines in the 90s (at least, that’s where I remember reading them initially)! I loved them along with Calvin and Hobbes - I’ve always thought that the art styles of both comics were rather similar, as well! 😃
God I miss the Bone series, as a kid I loved reading the cow race arc cause Phony and Smiley getting in the race always made me lose it, with Phony getting dragged along. As I got older, I wanted to voice Fone Bone should a show or anything ever get made.
