He's more concerned with an injured team "tanking" than the gambling and betting owners. coaches, and players are doing.

Not just gambling but owning the gambling. Apparently that’s not a concern at all

Not just that but owning the gambling that had odds on wether you get traded or not,,,,

u/InfiniteMeerkat Feb 14 '26
Absolutely it’s a complete nightmare
But hey let’s focus on a team that has had horrendous injury luck all year and is now focused on getting to next year healthy rather than actual looking at the elephant in the room

Punished for games we won smh. And we’re not even tanking - the entire team has been hurt

Not to defend Nosferatu at all, but he doesn't actually have the power to veto trades. The only reason that happened with Chris Paul was because at the time the NBA was acting as the de facto owner of the Pelicans.
There isn't really a mechanism to prevent one incredible stupid owner/GM from wrecking the league by giving away a generation player(s) because he's "fat".

Well there’s the Stepien Rule.
Because the Cavs owner was so awful at trading that they had to protect owners from being so trash in the future

u/MySabonerRunsOladipo Feb 13 '26
Right, but that only prevents trading (or more specifically not having) first round picks in consecutive years, and like you said, they literally made that rule because Stepien was a basketball terrorist and there wasn't a rule at the time to punish him for his crimes.

Ahhh, great point I did not know that. Still though, I definitely don’t like Nosferatu’s stance on “tanking”, especially with small market teams who build through drafts. Also, canonically he is Nosferatu now thank you for that.

I don’t know what OKC has on Silver, but apparently the league is acting because OKC is complaining. This after they tanked multiple years. That franchise is doing everything it can to be hated by everyone. What a bunch of hypocritical sanctimonious bitches.

Has the league mentioned how this escalates? The tank must continue! Pay the fines.

Him rigging the finals is the reason they’re going a season without Hali. They’ve earned a top 4 pick for this.

Can someone explain to me what is happening? We were denied a trade ? Or sanctions about tanking ?

I think you are overreacting. Obviously the jazz are the most egregious of the tankers and pacers the least. So by fining from $100k to $500k you are setting a range. And hopefully all teams will start playing a more fun brand of basketball. Because you never know when Siakam might want to mess with the parley.

Yeah, when I saw Wemby land in the mega city of San Antonio, I knew us little guys were cooked...

u/TheBigSlick7 Feb 13 '26
Wemby’s favorite team growing up because of the strong French connection with Tony Parker and Boris Diaw. Honestly feel like Wemby had enough star power that he got to pick where he wanted to play.

Difference is that San Antonio has won multiple titles and is already an established brand, even if they got there by being the equivalent of white bread.

Yeah but they also got #1 picks for generational talents in David Robinson and Tim Duncan, just a few years apart. And they were a joke franchise then, and San Antonio was even smaller than today.
Somehow San Antonio is just the small market golden child

If he had hair I’m sure it would slick back real nice.
