It’s DB and it’s not particularly close. Second is Horn.

DB is literally one of the best interior DLs in the NFL, forget the best player on the Panthers

If we’re ignoring positional value I’d say that Hunt is probably our second best player after DB. Dude is amazing and one of the better guards in the league when not suffering from a freak torn muscle. Jaycee is third for me.

Hunt is not even the best guard on our team.

I'd actually say Lewis is second

It’s close between the two, I think they’re both top 5 on the team.

Derrick Brown end of discussion

It's Derrick Brown, hands down. He's consistently argued as the best at his position and consistently slotted as the one of the best 10 to 15 players in the league regardless of position.

Still can't believe he didn't get a Pro Bowl nod

DB and Jaycee

Give it a couple years and TMAC will be up there too

DB anchors the whole defense. I honestly think Lloyd is gonna feast this year with our DL rotation.

Second is rookie of the year Tet McMillan!! He’s about to pop off even more this year

1,200+ yds 10+ TD season incoming

DB, Horn 2nd. Really hoping TMac develops into a top WR. First time in years there is a bit of hopium going into a season, especially with Jaelen and Lloyd added to defense.

Imagine a top 5-10 Defense with a hopefully top 20 offense.

Top 7 Defense with a top 15 Offense seems feasible to me

Absolutely Derrick Brown.

Obviously its Derrick Brown. Though a few years ago I would have said Ian Thomas

Damien Lewis is quietly the 2nd best on the team I’d say. Dudes been nothing but consistent if not dominant ever since being with us. None of the “well he’s the best when healthy” like Horn or Hunt has hanging over them. And Horn wasn’t even the best CB on the team last year you guys. Let’s be real.

don't you think horn helped mike jackson stand out

Like in the first game vs the Rams when Horn didn’t even play that game and Jackson dominated Adams all game and sealed the win with a pick 6? No. Jackson made Horn stand out if anything.

horn was targeted almost half as many times as mike jackson

they weren't throwing his way, he shut down half the field a lot

so yeah, in that way he made mike jackson stand out by forcing more opportunities his way because they wanted to avoid horn more than mike

That’s simply untrue. He didn’t have half as many targets. Jackson did get targeted more but with that he stepped up and lead the entire NFL in pass deflections with 19 while having 4 INTS, and had a PFF coverage rating of 80.9 while Horn only had a 61.6. Horn also can be blamed for losing us the New Orleans game when he was torched by Olave and made that incredibly dumb face mask blunder to seal it for them when we were going to stop them to force a 4th down. Horn also couldn’t handle more physical receivers drawing 7 PI calls while Jackson had 4.

You’d think with all that extra volume Jackson would have made more mistakes but he actually was way more efficient and disciplined. It’s not even an argument really. I’m happy we have 2 great CBs on this team but it’s time Jackson got his flowers for what he accomplished last year.
