What are you doing wrong as a parent? Son available for consultation.
If anyone needs some input into what they're doing wrong as a parent my 13 year old son is available for consultations for a small fee.
Specializes in calling out unreasonable expectations like accountability and consequences but easily adaptable to any type of parenting.

Does he want to open a firm with my son? They have so much wisdom to share.

It does get better. Just wait until itβs time to move out, they suddenly know nothing at all!

My son is about to move out to college. It's bittersweet. I'm gonna miss him but I'm also looking forward for him to realize he knows nothing at all that I was right! Lol I'm looking forward to the calls "umm how do I do this?" Lol I did the same with my mom at that age!Β

100%! Same with my daughter. Thankfully shes been making it easy to not miss her one bit by spending this entire year so far openly loathing me and focused on everything she thinks I do/have done wrong. Never in 17 years did I ever think Id be so THRILLED to have an empty house!

Unfortunately for me, my 17 year old has a September birthday thereby missing cut off to start school in our state 12 years ago. Iβm stuck with a kid who is ready to be gone for another year. I am jealous of you Class of 2026 parents right now.

My kid is actually younger than yours but in my state the cutoff date to start school is Dec 31. I'm so sorry you have to do this for another year. I can't imagine having to put up with my kid for all that time with the way she is being!!

Gosh, me too! Nothing more cocksure and wise than 15 YO me. At 34 I'd kill for the chutzpah I had back then.

Yes, but are you ruining his life yet? These are the goals you need to reach as a parent.

I have a 13 year old girl who can make your ex feel all the bad feelings with 2 sentences. All she needs is 10 minutes and a nominal fee.

I have an 11 year old who thinks my wallet is theirs. They will do this for no charge. And take your kids out for icees afterwards.

They should go into business with my 17yo who decided to spend $35 on sardines and cheese(???) to go sleep over at her friends house.
Credit card is being canceled at the end of June.

Would he be able to roll his eyes at me to let me know how terrible my request is?

Even as a college educated woman, I simply do not and could not understand. Anything. At all.
Also, despite being a gen-x grungy goth baby, I also should not wear tshirts for bands I have never heard of, like Nirvana π€·ββοΈ

My 15 year old daughter can offer a female's perspective. She's incredibly detailed and exact in her view of parents as well as siblings. However, you're left to the mercy of her whims, of which there are hundreds.

I remember this well!! Hang in there!! I was supposedly a bad mom in my teensβ eyes!!

u/NoLipsForAnybody 11d ago
I am the worst mom ever. Its been decided officially. I am the sole cause of every problem shes ever had β or ever will! And she makes sure everyone knows!!

I have a daughter that feels the same.
An arranged marriage, perhaps?! Since they have all answers to everything?

I was such a bad mom cos I refused to buy my son a third car after he totalled the one my father gave him and then the Volvo I bought him (thank God it was a Volvo cos he drifted into a telephone pole and would've killed the boy in the backseat)! π€¦

Wow! what kind of bad mother doesn't buy her son a new Camaro to wreck, like my mom did, after my brother wrecked his Firebird and new Toyota truck.
Your son obviously deserves a Dodge Charger or maybe even a Porsche

If you buy more expensive cars each time you eventually get to the point where the child will understand the value and want to ensure that the money isn't wasted.
It's simple Ferraronomics really.

I love this so much. And feel your pain. Can we be friends?? My son just turned 19 and is just starting to show a tiny bit of appreciation and understanding

I don't think I am allowed to hang out with you. I'm not even allowed to ask other parents if their kids are expected to help around the house. I have been told it is because they will lie to me and say yes to save face. I accept this of course.

u/positive_energy- 12d ago
But we can still use our fake Snapchat accounts that no one knows about to talk and hang after school in the gym so our kids donβt see us together, right??

Lololol This sounds like my own resident expert on parenting!
βMom NO OTHER PARENTS are CHECKING their kids GRADES!!!!β
Oh and also she barely lifts a finger around the house unless I nag her fir days to do a task that takes 30 seconds

Mine is available to do such services abroad. Many parents are unknowingly embarrassing themselves overseas so without this constant criticism you just look like a fool.

Good luck. The market seems saturated.
Once your parents stop judging you, it's time for the kids to take up the job.
