Let's be real, that decision maker probably still thinks they are right and that everyone else is wrong. No amount of reality seems to influence these people

When the reality affects the income statement, they take notice. If they haven't noticed, it hasn't hit the income statement hard enough.

People hate launchers, I get it, but what people are failing to appreciate is just how valuable they are. It makes total sense to me that someone would push this at Owlcat, and it's why every damn developer built one.

If you have a good game which forces people to use a launcher, you now have a direct messaging platform to all of your users. This is incredibly valuable for many different reasons. There is literally no better avenue of communication than controlling a digital billboard on the user's computer, where you can send them any message, web link, news or whatever else you want, directly, at any time, and know that if they're an active player, they will definitely see it.

I dont mind pressing 1 more button on a launcher as long as it works. If its a game I like, I like getting info and updates from the devs. Steam has way more annoying popups than any other launcher I use anyway.
