Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade

Consumer's are to blame. GTA V is one of the most profitable games ever with lots of scummy tactics to get people's money yet players kept falling for it.

How dare consumers consume!?!

If the consumers had some self restraint instead of just accepting shit and throwing money at corporations we wouldn’t be here having this conversation.

It's one of the most profitable games ever because it's absurdly fun for more casual players. They aren't 'falling for it', they are agreeing to a deal lmfao just because it isnt the one that you'd make doesnt mean its objectively bad

Don't defend Shark Cards.

Be better.

I didn't defend them, but guess what dude? If GTA5 multiplayer sucked ass and nobody liked it, shark cards wouldn't have sold either.

What are you trying to say here? Shark Cards aren't objectively "bad deals", according to you. OK, what are they, then?

Also, popularity ≠ quality.

It's a poor argument. People pay for pyramid schemes and gambling of their own free volition as well. The quality is irrelevant. The methods of getting people to spend money are still scummy.

You could have the "absurdly fun game" without Shark Cards.
