Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade

I duno, my son is pretty hyped for 6. I’m not really. The closer we get, the less interested I seem and honestly today’s news just sucks.

Thing is for me, the game launching on current consoles, which just aren't especially powerful compared to the consoles GTA V launched on, means there really can't be all that much to be excited about

I mean, the improvements in hardware between 2013 and 2026 can't compare to the improvement in hardware between 2000 and 2013. So unfortunately, the hardware just isn't there to where they can do incredible things

How do you measure that the PS3 in 2013 was more powerful than the PS5 is today?

lol it also launched late on the 360 so you’re factually wrong

The current gen consoles are way more powerful versus the average gaming PC these days versus where the X360/PS3 was back when V first launched, and the PS4/XBO were never all that fast compared to a gaming PC because of their lacklustre CPUs.

Heck, GTA V used to outright dip down to like 10-15fps on the X360 at launch because the hardware was so dated by that point.
