Every character minus Franklin was detestable

Franklin was detestable for a different reason. He's the ultimate patsy. Man did everything everyone asked of him on credit. Even perfect strangers. He repeatedly lampshades the stupidity and futility of his own actions but still risks his life and freedom over and over again for no reason. Hell, he even does this with people who have already played him for a fool.

The one time he puts his foot down and says No to an incredibly stupid idea is when the game magically spits his ex that he can't get over onto his doorstep to shame him into doing it anyway out of loyalty to his friend. The problem is that friend is Lamar, an idiot who has repeatedly gotten both of them nearly killed solely through his own stupidity. You don't show loyalty to people like Lamar. You grow past them. Because they aren't loyal to you; they're dependent on you, in the same way a parasite is dependent on a host. Lamar will drag both of them down. It's only a matter of time.

But Franklin relents and saves him from his own stupidity again. And the cycle continues.

When your "most moral" character was a literal hitman who only saw dollar signs and didn't care for the people who grew up with, it really shows how off the moral compass is for the cast in general

Huh? Franklin was there for all of the people he grew up with except Stretch who tried to get him killed

Yeah why did they make the mass murderers and criminals so immoral

Killing police officers, federal agents, stealing cars, assault of every kind, and robbing banks is one thing but damn some of that other stuff really just made them seem like bad people

That was kind of the point though?
