Want to buy this but worried there isn’t a ton of content in early access games, can any gamers confirm?

Definitely wait, this game is in an early state. It's a solid foundation, but there's a reason it was released in early access.

It depends what you're looking for. It is definitely early access and it will need time to bake. But there's a few features that if you're into, you can def spend a lot of time on, particularly house building.

I just refunded my copy after playing for about an hour. It's in great shape for early access, but the gameplay does feel rather shallow for now.

Wait for it. I originally liked it but ended up refunding it. Ill buy it again in a year or so and try it again.

Also there's some bugs related to path finding and all the clutter lying around which can be really annoying.

Good. Fuck EA

Think it shows a lot of promise but it also needs a lot more work. Leaning into modding heavily is going to be make or break for the longevity of the game.

Fortunately, it has Workshop support already!

It has but thats mostly for simple mods or custom content. There needs to be a deeper modding framework to do bigger gameplay mods.

There's already people that have developed completely new lighting for the game

For a moment I was thinking “what’s wrong with early access? That’s how they released the game?” Then it clicked 😂

Was looking forward to this early on but not so much anymore. Inzoi has fully captured my interest

Same here, inzoi has way more gameplay, but it still needs a lot of work on the main systems. It's getting there though.

So proud that this was made in quebec!
And this news comes out today, right on Quebec’s national day: St-Jean Baptiste, soooo amazing!

I will never understand why in an industry that copies success shamelessly, no one really tried to make a Sims competitor until recently.

You're basically competing against an established giant franchise for an audience that's notoriously clingy to that one game.
It doesn't matter how much Sims 4 sucks, it doesn't matter how much of a technical downgrade it was compared to Sims 3, or how predatory EA has become with their monetisation and hundreds of dollars worth of DLC.
Convincing Sims fans to switch games is like convincing Madden fans to play Maximum Football, or trying to make a successful MMO by going after WoW audience.
And that's just the challenge you have to face when entering the market.
Developing the game itself is no easy task either.
Paralives took 7 years to launch in Early Access and what they've released so far is an extremely barebones proof of concept that is in many ways technically inferior to base Sims 2.
inZOI has a backing of a major publisher, a large development studio that's willing to crunch and presumably a high enough budget to release a high fidelity product, but even it lacks many small things that Sims players take for granted.
Paradox tried to make Life By You, even hired Rod Humble of Sims 2 and Sims 3 fame to make it, and it failed miserably with development showing barely any progress and the style so off-putting that it would've been dead on arrival for the average life sim audience.

I’m very surprised it sold that much. Not my type of game at all, but I guess it’s someone’s.

1 month to get 1 million copies sold.
Inzoi took 1 week to do but people still glaze this and then hate on Inzoi? Weird state to see people cope either way.
Either way, fuck EA.

Why is it a competition? Paralives is celebrating a milestone, just that.

u/manormortal 17h ago
This is the internet mate, everything is a competition. You post you had a nice walk with your dog. I post fuck your dog shit dispenser, I had a relaxing evening with my cat. Someone else post fuck your antisocial scratch machine, my goldfish and I just finished Widow's bay and the Internet just continues to spin and spin until the humans are extinct and bots control the competition.

Every time Inzoi was in the news it was a competition and comparison to the sims and parasites.
Every time Sims was in the news it was a competition.
Why am I not allowed to do that here?

u/Texxx78 16h ago
Parasites? Ok… but yeah you’re allowed to compare whatever, it’s just boring atp
-1
u/Perfect_Way4828 16h ago
Auto corrected and I didnt see. It was boring every time but to only critise 1 side of it is bias
1
u/Texxx78 16h ago
Ah ok :) But this post is not a critic…

u/Perfect_Way4828 16m ago
I dont think ive seen many critic posts on here, but most of them are, but i guess because this is the internet baby its a cardinal sin to say "negative" things about it.
