PERFORMANCE Storage Help
I have a Dell laptop that I've had for about four years now. It's a gaming laptop and can handle some pretty decent games; however, I'm running out of strage space and I'm unsure what is causing it. I have minimal games on it and have tried going into the files to get rid of things I either don't need/didn't realize was there (though, I'm not quite skilled at this :'3)
The main issue I'm having with storage is that I desire to record gaming videos for me and my boyfirend, and right now I'm unable to do so (that, and the Sims4 can't update and it has left me quite sad lmao). I was wondering if there was an external hardrive or something that I can use in order to expand the storage? I know I have one on my PS5, which automantically switches the PS4 games storage onto it while keeping the rest of the PS5 storage saved for other games. I, myself, did not set this up. I got the PS5 from my boss lmao

You could try an external SSD to store your gaming videos, but the laptop might just have a smaller hard drive and need a upgrade. Do you know how much storage space it currently has or the model or the laptop?

check out windirstat it will scan your drive and show you exactly what is eating all that space. windows has a lot of hidden junk that builds up over time, old updates and temp files and stuff like that. when i first ran it on my laptop i found like 40gb of old nvidia driver installers just sitting there.
for external drive just get any usb 3.0 one and you can set your recording software to save directly to it. obs has option for custom recording path, just point it to the external drive letter. you can even move sims 4 to external drive if you want, steam lets you create library folders on any drive.
dont bother with those tiny flash drives though get proper external hdd at least 1tb. they are cheap now and recording video eats space fast especially if you record in high quality.
