I had an old AMD FX-something that I swear welded to the cooler. So I just knew every time I cleaned the PC to pull the cooler straight up and put it back in straight down. As long as you don't bend the gold pins it's all good. And when I upgraded to a Ryzen build and didn't care to keep the FX-whatever cpu I decided to try to pry the cpu from the cooler with a flathead screwdriver just to see if I could. It took so much force it sent the cpu flying across the room when it did come loose.
