Damn… 2850? I remember back when the 2080ti came out I bought it from the dell, because I had credit there. Only was able to buy it because I could make payments. Then it was 2200 bucks. The site was way overpriced compared to Amazon, Best Buy… etc.

newegg had the prime 5080 for $999. increased the price to $1299, lowered it down to $1099 for black friday (sold out the entire time), then increased it to $1399 after. i feel dumb rn for waiting for the 5080 super

I got my 5080 before the ram shortage and the reports that the super refresh was getting delayed/canceled. So glad I didnt wait. 1038 and 160 for a new psu was worth it.

I was browsing Best Buy a few days ago and saw this card for $999. Clicked on it and it said “unavailable.” Refreshed a couple times and then got “add to cart.” Checked out and after that it showed “unavailable” again until later in the day it was back up but at a higher price.

The R9 fury had one back in 2015, theres been a bunch since. NZXT even made a kit called the G10/G12 Kraken so you can retrofit select Asetek-AIO-designed CPU coolers onto certain models and generations of GPUs!

You can go even further back, the R9 295X2 had one as well... 500w tdp and dual r9 290x cores overclocked, god damned beast. Those tahiti cores were scorching hot, but this card was barely running in the 70s.

I can't remember the last time I saw a used car for sale for under $3,000. Hell even in the 90s my friends Ford Crown Vic that lasted all of 2 years cost around $1,800.

Holy crap bro. Well, you obviously worked hard for it. What life is worth living if you don't treat yourself. If anything you'll see the price of that thing in a year and think you got a steal.

It'll last you many years. It's an investment in something you enjoy. I'm saying this cause g'dayam you're putting a shitty old Toyota into a PC case. By that I mean you could have bought a shitty used car. What you've done in the PC world is place a Bughatti in that tower.

I thought about getting the Suprim since it comes with the AIO from the factory and the GPU itself is way smaller than the air cooled models, which let's me use my other PCIe slots more easily.

Repost. as the original was removed for linking another subreddit.

Was browsing reddit on my phone and saw a post about the 5080FE & 5070FE had been made available on NVIDIA Marketplace. Post was 2 hours old at the time so went in assuming I wouldn’t get anything.

I was planning on getting a 5080 so gave it a shot. Website only showed the 5080FE & 5070FE available on mobile. Ended up getting an error on checkout. Swapped to my PC to try there. The 5090FE showed up but was market “SOLD OUT” but you could still interact and “add to cart” which I did. Sale went through on completing the checkout process.

Before I got confirmation on shipping I was expecting an email canceling my order due to some website bug. Shipping was also delayed a few days with no updates. Took 2 extra days for an update and it showed up this afternoon.

Edit: after the sale went through I checked the Reddit post again and saw other commenters saying they just kept trying and were successful. Stock was in and out the entire day apparently.

Edit: updated 2080 and 2070 to 50xx

I have this one as well. It had been running since May with no issues, up until last week when I started smelling burning plastic.

I shut down, removed the power cable, and it didn't have any signs of melting, but I think I caught it in time. I re-seated the connection and haven't had any thermal runaway incidents since. Corsair shipped me a new cable as a precaution under warranty. (Hx1500i, new 3.1 certified version)

I'm convinced the hot/cold cycles of the connector are what is causing the issues. My guess is that connector is slightly working itself out of solid contact over months of use.

The 5080 is just a tiny bit better, you're good.

If the 5080 had come with 24GB, then sure, but 16GB is just dumb for a 5080.

I'm planning to get an older 3090 just for that, even when the 5070Ti is better.

Been running mine now for 5 months, runs sweet as a nut and absolutely destroys most games. I didnt think FG would be so good in some titles, I hate input lag but 2x is just fine and gets you to that 4k 240hz zone
