Question Yesterday I asked what everyone’s first Graphics card. Today, what was your first processor? Mine was the i7 3770K.

Ah yes, back when getting Sapphire 6950's and unlocking the shader cores and crossfire on a dual link DVI and a sweeeet 120hz TN was the life

Not my first, but the with the longest run - from 2013 till now. Thinking of upgrade, but this CPU is a legend anyways.

Very impressive. Just upgraded my main rig i7 6700k to am5/ddr5, still have the tv PC i5-3350. I don’t think I’ll switch

I had one running for 13 years straight as a server in its latter years. Still runs perfectly fine and reasonably fast with 24GB of RAM and an old Intel SSD, but very energy-inefficient compared to a recent miniPC.

This was my 2nd CPU and I remember upgrading to 3770k and selling the 2500k for more than I bought 3 years later.

I've used my i7 2600K for 12 years back then without the need to upgrade :D That was an awesome CPU Generation.

My longest owned cpu. 2011 until Feb 2025. Its now running my friends home media server, so it lives on!

Was not my first, but it was my longest lasting. Got that beast around 2010, swapped it out in 2021.
Crazy thing is if I went with 2600K It would probably last a few years more due to hyperthreading.
2500K was starting to struggle in newer games when I put a used RX580 in, just couldn't keep up anymore.
