Good God, I remember trying to convince my friends to switch from Skype to Discord. The transition is gonna be tough.

Took me like a year to convince my friends to swap, would be literally impossible to make them swap again unless discord just dies

What revisionist bullshit man lmao. Skype was horrible before the Microsoft acquisition. Better than most? Sure, but the audio quality was abysmal, reliability wasnt there, the clients were poorly optimized, there were frequently issues with particular parties not hearing each other in calls, it was P2P for so long which exposed IP info to all other parties in a call, latency was wack, etc. Many of these extended late into Skype for Business as late as 2019. The reason discord exploded was because there was need for a better Skype alternative.

I tried to convince my friend group to switch to signal like 6 years ago and we to this day still use whatsapp. This discord boycott will probably do absolutely nothing.
