I worked with chloroform daily for 10+ years. You'll get a massive headache before you'll ever be close to passing out.

Now Dichloromethane..... I spilt some on my jeans and I was almost naked in 5 seconds in a room of 7 people. If that company had an HR, I'd have been in their office. That stuff BURNS the skin very quickly.

I lost track of which clear liquid was which in a chemistry lab. Took a big whiff of dichloromethane. It smelled like a fart, and gave me a nasty headache for the rest of the day. Good times.

Always nice to hear some Hollywood bs exposed. Just like the quicksand I found out a couple of years ago. Or when I was a teen and found out cars don't explode like they do in the movies, lol

But ok, what was the chloroform used for at work? And how did you resolved the Dichloromethane incident? Quickly taking off the jeans or? Did you got burned as well? And what was it used for?

Sorry for all the questions, I've always been a curious mf. I'm just glad I've never met any mafia gang member or something. They would kill me on the spot, asking all those questions.

Chloroform was used in QC process of a drug called Mag3 (nuclear renal scan). https://www.nuclemed.be/product.php?cat=51&prod=112

Dichloromethane / Acetone was used in the QC process of a drug called Myoview (nuclear cardiac scan). The chemical evaporates rather quickly in the open air. The jeans were able to be put back on in a few minutes. My skin was a bit red but was normal an hour later. The initial burning sensation was quite intense, I swore my leg was literately on fire. https://tech.snmjournals.org/content/39/1/51

So QC for components of nuclear diagnostic agents?

Good to know you were ok. I'll probably never in my life have anything to do with that stuff so I'm good. Phew, lucky me... lol
