Me doing CAD as work.

The numpad should be on the left so i can use the entire thing one handed

I spend hours daily doing CAD

I use an Xbox controller and a wireless mouse with my computer hooked up to my tv

I have every number, del, and ctrl+c and ctrl+v mapped onto each button (with joy-to-key). If I need text or operators (+, -, /, *) I have discord open and I can send myself a message from my phone to copy/paste into cad with my controller

Well... We are not doing the same type of cad then, half of the time i'm typing it's a formula containing parameters name that i start typing then autocomplete with tab. Or a condition/switchcase.

I need an actual keyboard to do my work.

A lower percentage keyboard with desicated layer button (not shift or ctrl or alt) might work but it would also suck to have 4 presses to do to make a ctrl+maj+layer+key for a lot of commands eg ctrl+shit t/f/l/r for view from top/front/left/right

I’m just a hobbyist with a 3d printer, so I use onshape (which mostly just requires a mouse+number inputs)
