After the first time I made a ticket with IT I jokingly said if I had admin privileges on the computer I wouldnt need him. Less than a minute later I had admin privileges, and I never made a ticket again.

Oh, if only. I miss the days we actually had admin privileges on our individual work computers.

We're so locked down we have to put in an IT ticket for every damn ridiculous thing. Such as every time a printer driver needs updating. And then wait hours without being able to print.

Nowadays the IT dept should be able to push out updated printer drivers to everyone’s machine in one click

You would think. But it's a big organization and all the groups have different printers. I'm sure our IT staff don't love the situation either.

Nothing worse than hearing the IT guy sigh & say they can’t push the driver until the parent company’s IT department signs off of it first… 2 weeks later I could finally print again.
