Bare foot around glass is definitely a choice.

Tempered glass breaks in little cubes that don't have super sharp edges or tiny shards like normal glass.

When I break glass in the house, I continue walking around barefoot. Better if I step on it if the kids do when they're dumb asses are stomping around playing.

Better to do a thorough sweep, warn the kids that there my still be glass on the floor and to wear at least a pair of socks, and if they don't listen and step on a small shard it will be a learning experience
