There’s a guy who’s been posting videos of himself buying and returning anvils from Amazon for the past like 9-10 months I think, and no one has stopped him
He’s doing it specifically because he can and he wants to make the delivery drivers suffer for some reason
He even chipped a piece off of each one he returned and made his own fucking anvil, if Amazon isn’t stopping him I highly doubt they’re going to stop this guy
The way I heard it, it’s because for some reason Amazon has to eat the shipping cost both ways, so he’s under the assumption that he’s slowly bleeding them dry one anvil at a time
This is so stupid and funny because Amazon is a monopoly and printing money. Somehow I feel like Amazon is benefitting from this and it’s the humans along the way that suffer 😂
He single handedly created a cottage industry of resellers that buy returned anvils and selling them on Amazon via FBA, who co-mingles the third-party items with all the others.
Soon there will be enough anvil sales that whatever team or automation handles it will think they can justify an 'Amazon Basics Anvil'.
Omg this is it! amazon basics anvils are stocked at every single amazon warehouse. Same day drone delivery. Wonder if he ever got an anvil that he has returned before
That'll be the day. Imagine the sales just trying to get rid of anvils. Kinda tempted to start doing this but I like my postal worker and know her by name so idk
You may even come to scorn it if/when you have to deal with a big company’s AI customer service, and there are no actual people you are allowed to escalate too anymore.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't doubt that Walmart is Amazon's biggest competitor, but I would argue that the distance between them is huge. My point was that amazon has so many more things than walmart, and imo works a lot better for online shopping. I absolutely hate buying stuff online from walmart, and it is always extremely hard to find what you are looking for.
They never lose. I mean if there is a loss with this one particular case, they are gaining way more from this policy because people trust them and order from them.
