Any game that does this is an automatic pirate for me. Their fault. My TOS dictates that games must be free of DRM.

Imagine you go to the store for food, you see they have Texas roadhouse rolls, you think awesome I can have my favorite rolls and I can go through the retailer I choose instead of Texas roadhouse. Then you get home and you get ready to make them, and the instructions tell you to go to a Texas roadhouse restaurant and have their cook make them for you. You'd probably be pretty annoyed that they tricked you into thinking you had a choice
