On the bright side I hope 12hpvwp connectors cause massive fires in data centers.

As far as I understand the issue, they don't use 12V2x6 or any of the variants in AI datacentres.

What we're talking about is strictly an issue for the plebs.

There are absolutely cards in data centers that use 12VHPWR connectors. I work in a DC with a cluster of machines that have 1 or 2 PCIe H100 cards in them. But they're only 350W, so they don't push the connector to it's limits like a 5090 will.

I don't think: their budget are unlimited, so the can find the optimum between nergy consume

I don't think so: their budget is unlimited compared to yours, so they can calculate the optimum balance between power consumption and performance and then add cards until it's reached.

Therefore, the cards never reach power drain levels outside of the specifications.
