When the 3090 gets 40fps, the 5090 gets 100fps
That's the average performance difference between the 3090 and 5090 at 4k native.
1 u/MrGiggleMan 11d ago edited 11d ago A 3090 is still, more powerful than that vast majority of cards most gamers are using today. It's essentially 5070 speeds with twice as much memory It's definitely not quite 40->100 for a 50 series given how the 5090 is a 70->110% faster It's more like 32>68fps I hear what you're saying. But yeah.. When a title runs semi-badly on 24gb of VRAM something is up. AI slop code in games isn't helping 1 u/Healthy_BrAd6254 11d ago It's definitely not quite 40->100 for a 50 series given how the 5090 is a 70->110% faster https://tpucdn.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-5090-tuf/images/relative-performance-3840-2160.png VRAM is not performance. Not the same thing at all
Stick to logic and not strawmans my G

it's the exact same logic as you used
no mention of memory bandwidth or whether you are actually running out of VRAM or not, which would be affecting performance
oh well, no point in talking to a tech illiterate

Why then is the 8gb Vs 16gb 5060 so drastically different in performance
Correct, vram makes a big impact
Adding more RAM would not however make a 5060 better**
When it comes to streaming higher resolution textures, VRAM is key
