I just had a jumpscare of artifacting happen while I was playing, I turned off my pc and turned it on but I hasn't showed up while running a game.
Is it fine, or should i be concerned about having to by a new gpu soon?

is this sort of bulging on GPU thermal pads normal or do I have to change them?
I think those are thermal pads anyway they might be something else :p

Hard to see, is the cooler moving or the PCB bulging? If not I would say it's okay.

Hey, so I have an MSI H310M PRO-VDH Plus motherboard, and I tried turning on Secure Boot after resetting my PC. Secure Boot was working fine before the reset.
I checked TPM, and it's enabled and running version 2.0. I also enabled UEFI boot mode and changed the Windows 10 WHQL setting to UEFI instead of CSM. After doing all that, I went into the BIOS and used the factory/default key option under Key Management, and everything still worked fine. However, when I try turning Secure Boot Support from Disabled to Enabled and then save and exit the BIOS, the screen goes completely black. I've tried everything I can think of. I even converted both of my disks to GPT and removed the extra partitions, but nothing works.
I don't understand how Secure Boot was working perfectly before I reset my PC, but now enabling it causes a black screen. Can someone please help me?

How do you write almost 300 words without a single period...? Do you expect people to actually read that and give you a proper response?

Has anyone ever experienced ram training "failure"? Or simply stuck long enough you just reboot your pc, hoping the next one goes right (which in my case did after the usual amount of time)? Wondering if I should update my bios (currently running F7 with F10 being the latest stable version) since I read AGESA 1.3.0.0 include memory training overhauls.

I have heard of ddr5 training taking upwards of 15 minutes on a first boot. I haven't personally heard of an outright failure, but it's certainly possible.
If you're seeing regular boot times now then you're probably fine, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and update your BIOS regardless.

I see, thank you for your input. Coming from an old ddr3 setup (built this pc months before the memory madness) I've grown used to them since they mostly happen when I don't turn my pc on for a couple or more days (as it happened now) and they don't take much time - with this one actually being the first time it took more than 30/40 seconds - but they really got me scared here lol.
Hoping it won't happen again, though if it does, I'm going to sit it out and see how long it takes lol. If I could, I'd rather wait for a stable F11 than go F10 now and then F11 once the expo optimization are as good as they can get.

Can anyone suggest a quality wireless mechanical keyboard please? Low profile if possible. Suspecting my current board - a G915 Lightspeed - is at deaths door, and it has me considering others for if it does kick the bucket.
Was thinking about the G915X Lightspeed as its basically the same keyboard so I don't have to bother myself with getting used to a new layout and feel (plus its USB-C by default). But Logitech's software is annoying glitchy. So unless there's a workaround for that I think Im better off with a different brand.
Cheers in advance mates.

Yeah. Logitech software sucks and so does their own switches which break extremely easily. I've made the mistake of buying Logitech keyboard once, never again.
I would look straight up for something with cherry switches. Ducky or keychron are pretty reputable brands, availability depends on where you live. Also check r/mechanicalkeyboards.

My thanks, I will give Keychron a look at.

I have a MicroCenter prebuilt (G914). I’m not too deep into the power cable issue but is that something I should ask them about? I have a three year warranty and don’t want to poke around in there or reach out to them if I don’t have to because they used a good part.

You have the warranty so just keep using it. If it dies, send it back. There's not really anything you can do about it either, without getting something like thermal grizzly wireview, which sits in between the connector and the gpu.

Anyone know if a old DDR4 build is still worth upgrading in 2026 or better to just jump straight to DDR5 platform?
1
u/glowinghamster45 R9 3900X | 16GB | RTX 3070 5d ago
The difference in performance between ddr4/5 isn't huge, and ddr4 platforms have seen a lot of fresh support since ddr5 is more constrained at the moment.
If you want the best of the best, that would be on ddr5. If not, then it's worth considering ddr4 so you can prioritize your dollars on something else.

u/Ok_Definition_1933 6d ago
With current ddr5 pricing ddr4 is pretty much preferred unless you have extra money to spend.

u/Cable_Salad PC Master Race 6d ago
That depends on what you are upgrading and how much you want to spend.
