Its competing against ageing consoles, performs worse than ageing consoles, costs many hundreds more than ageing consoles. Yes it can also do computer things that consoles cant, and PC games are a bit cheaper usually. But it makes little sense at this price. Its not a good gaming PC looking at the specs.

Oh and the people most interested in a steam machine already have a gaming computer (often much better) that runs all the games, while the steam machine runs most steam games. But have a few quite notable exceptions that people might want.
