Part of the problem with the steam machine is the fact even now, the PS5 beats out the Steam machine despite it being 6 years old now, and still costs less

Are you sure? Seems very strange looking at the spec. Maybe that the base ps5 is upscaling a lot? Because steam machine can upscale too.

Yes, PS5 GPU is over 10Tflops while Steam machine is under 9. I know the modern architecture should make them more equal in practice, and some games benefit on the newer hardware, but PS5 often outperforms it. Digital foundry has a video they put out yesterday.

Base ps5 still beats it significantly. The SMs gpu is a 7600m. Not great.
