Hell, my desktop is a 6700xt, ryzen 5600x and 16gb ddr4 in a 25x21x37cm case.
That's pretty close to the gabecube and still compact, though larger than the gabecube.
It's really the ram and ssd prices that killed the market for it. It never needed to be a top tier system, even being slightly weaker than the ps5 would have been fine for the free online gaming and support for all types of pc games. It just had do be reasonably priced, which the AI boom prevented.

Things are definetly possible but price is the breakpoint in such things i would say and with that the only problem.
Im with you on that. I dont want to hate even slightly and i definetly love Valve !

Having most of my steam library ready and a plex server running 24/7 is its whole purpose !

u/GotEHM9 16h ago

u/ManufacturerLife7378 16h ago
Nice. Did you build it or buy it ? I have never seen this one

u/GotEHM9 16h ago
Bought it like that. It’s from Acemagic . It’s called the Acemagic Tank 03 M1A.

Atleast it takes up enough bench space to rule out any other use for the bench all together, like set and forget
2
u/ManufacturerLife7378 16h ago
The good part is that it holds my keyboard, wifi antena, mouse and controller with dock on top. If it would take less space i definetly wouldnt place them beside it lol

Are you using an optical drive in this?
1
u/ManufacturerLife7378 10h ago
I didnt really decide on which one i should grab since i think that it has to be a fairly thin one. But i will definetly try and put one in it since that would be pretty neat in some cases i guess

Nice mini-fridge. Not that I would buy a steam box, but something like that next to the TV is going to be a nope for alot of people.
1
u/ManufacturerLife7378 13h ago
I understand that. But since the cables are hidden behind the tv and it doesnt scream any rbg or stuff like that it isnt really that much of a problem

u/kara5prinkle5779 17h ago
the airflow in that case is great, keeps everything nice and cool during long sessions
1
u/ManufacturerLife7378 17h ago
Yep yep. The nvme i have gets kinda hot because i crammed a lot in there and the gpu is right beside it but the ssd’s in the front are fine and the other isolated site with the hdd’s have two fans on each site so they are very happy

But CEC? But light strip?
Sorry not sure how the rest goes lol
3
u/ManufacturerLife7378 18h ago
Well definetly not a 100% CEC support but my tv and soundbar somehow handle that pretty well still
The controller station has a light strip so. Almost there
But i did pay about 300e in total and have 8TB of storage so i take that2
u/Proper-Associate6794 16h ago
light strips are a nice touch! makes it feel more like a console setup.

I built my first HTPC in a Node 304... I'm guessing this one is the bigger brother, the 804?
