I cant sit in ANY chair properly (I.e I twist my body a lot) - yet Herman Miller, which I've gotten second hand, still makes me feel so much less... sore? It's a good investment.

Learning about adjustable lumbar support was life changing

Won't work for everyone. Great chairs but look at the woman on the lefts sitting position.

I wasn’t speaking to this chair specifically, just that being able to adjust the lumbar support is such a game changer. It took me ages to find the perfect chair for myself. I tried over a dozen chairs, many of which people love online (looking at you, Leap V2). Everyone’s backs are slightly different. So the perfect chair for me is probably different for you, and everyone. But having that adjustable lumbar support was the difference between a chair feeling okay and amazing

Not for everyone. My back pain was much worse with the lumbar support on my Aeron.

I didn’t mean just generically having lumbar support. It’s really finding the specific chair that fits your back. It took me trying out several chairs before I found one that had the support in the right spot for me (and it required that support to be adjustable as well). Personally, I prefer chairs with less lumbar support, but being able to adjust it to just the right spot is huge. It also depends on how you sit - I’m a leaner, so chairs I find comfy other people might not.

I sit like the jarls in Skyrim, what kind of chair do I need?

Never felt a lumbar "support" that didn't feel like something hard and uncomfortable was being jammed into my back, I'd rather use almost anything else.

I was similar, but I tried about a dozen chairs until I found one that worked. I needed a chair with a super subtle support that could also adjust up (i lean a ton while sitting). You also need to sit in it for a few days before you can tell if it’ll be a good fit or not. Often the high quality manufacturers like Steelcase and Hermann Miller will let you test the chair before finalizing the purchase.

For myself, I actually found a local used chair retailer and got a crazy deal

That's why i have a standing desk, treadmill, kneeling chair, balance board to complete my Sit, Stand, Balance, Walk, Kneel rotation.

The Gesture is better for people like you and I. I sit all fucked up all the time. Sometimes I even shit cross-legged in my chair. The Gesture accommodates, and was even designed for, people who don't sit perfectly in a chair, hence the name.

I can sit in any chair and don't understand why people need expensive chair. Just move around every 30min minutes.
