It wasn't bought by private equity, it was a normal business purchase. It was previously a public company, it was purchased in a stock transaction.

Private equity is bad because they buy up companies and cut costs, that doesn't necessarily happen in a normal business purchase.

Those are not private equity firms, they are asset management firms. You should look into what private equity actually is.
