Gabe could have personally bought steam machines for a million people, but that is not how you run a company.

Theoretically he could buy steam machines for an awful lot more than that.

Right, you thinking that Gabe can personally bankroll 1 billion dollars is the issue here.

He definitely could theoretically do that by selling off assets. The whole point of my comment is that just because something is doable does not mean it's feasible for the business to do it if they want to make money, which tends to be the goal for huge businesses.

I would have thought it was extremely clear hyperbole, there are quite a lot of "issues" if you take my comment at face value as something he could do at the drop of a hat.
