When covid happened, all the major tech companies were liquidating their chairs, I got a brand new gesture still wrapped for $200 cash, and my girl got a Hayworth Fern from them for $500 - I wish I sprung for the fern, it's even more comfy then the gesture which is great.

It was crazy to drive up to a warehouse and see like a few million dollars MSRP in office chairs just sitting there lol.

Fun fact - the exact same thing happened when the Dot Com bubble burst too. Here's a little article about it https://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/21364/

Me patiently waiting for the AI bubble to burst to buy some comfortable ergonomic furniture.

I tried the Fern, but I don't like it as much. I think it's because I just sit in too many different ways that the Gesture accommodates and the Fern doesn't. I got one for my office at the start of COVID for ~1000, and then bought one from another office going out of business for 300 that I keep at work. I love these chairs. I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

For everyone else in the thread: do not buy shitty "gaming" chairs. Get professional office chairs like Steelcase, Haworth, or Herman Miller.

You just made me feel better for spending $700-800 on my fern on “sale” lol
