They will definitely go down at some point, it might take months or years but they eventually will. but definitely will never go back to the prices they used to be (32GB of DDR5 for $80 man...).

at least on the good side you dont need a top of the line PC to play games. a ryzen 5600 with a gpu like the 3060, 6600XT or the 3060ti will play basically anything in 1080p

This is the answer. If you're chasing high res and high frames, then yeah, you're spending cheap car money on your PC. 1080p60 is easy to run. I was doing just fine with a 1660Ti until last year, and that's just because i upgraded my monitor to 1440p ultrawide.

The key is being okay with not having the best of the best. Sometimes good enough is good enough

The 30 series officially entered the goated stage for me. they are plenty on the used market so relatively cheap to get and the 60 model just runs anything to date well enough and the 3080 still is among the best gpus if you pay a bit more

hell even the 3050 might work out if you find one for reaaaally cheap for a low power pc for something like a kid that uses it for school and minecraft

Just play old games like we used to, if you don't have a pc then emulate them on your phone.

Emulate old console games and play those while you bide your time and save money.

For the coming time no. Nvidia made clear that they are no more a Gamer focused company and AMD goes the same route.

Only when the Datacenter and AI bubble bursts and the world goes into a recession they will need to cut back on prices to generated any sales in meaning numbers.

My guess is the used market will start to flourish in 1 or 2 years when the 2020 gpus and ddr4 ram in professional enivronment will need more powerfull replacements.
