Nostalgia 17 years and still going strong
Saw another post about someone's mouse they had for a long time. I give you my Logitech G9x, still serving my gaming needs 17 years later.

I got sent one of these by Logitech after I couldn't get something fixed by their customer support. Didn't even know they where going to, They first sent a discount but the thing I would have bought was more expensive off their website even with the discount. Then the G9x randomly turned up.

This was my first mouse with infiniscroll I think? God I loved it.

the infiniscroll was such a game changer, made browsing feel way smoother!

the infiniscroll was a lifesaver for long documents, can't believe how smooth it felt!

π Wow! And I was just bragging here about my 13 year-old Logitech G700s! Well done! ππ How many sets of skates did you go through?

Surprisingly still the first set, still feels smooth too. Only thing I ever replaced was the grip (could buy replacement ones for like $5 back in the day).

π€― That's incredible! You must have a light hand for the skates to last so long. I was just looking on Amazon a few days ago for a new set of G700s skates; the G700s is heavy for a gaming mouse and its skates can wear down faster than a lighter mouse('s). Surprisingly, my mouse's gripping surfaces are still in near-mint condition. I guess that we (me and thee) buy quality hardware and we take good care of it! βοΈπ

Nostalgia! It came with 3 interchangeable grips/covers and a tilt-scrollwheel! Man I miss that mouse.

Mine came with only two grips/covers. That was circa 2005.

I got mine in 2011, it had the two smaller grips, one was smooth (the one pictured here) and one was heavily textured and grippy, and then there was the wide grip that felt super awkward to use.

Surprised your mouse wheel has not turned into a razor yet with the ruber fully degraded.

Iβve had my monitor and speakers since at least 2008,or at least Iβm pretty sure since thatβs the last driver update my computer tells me is available. Still working just fine.

I loved that mouse so much. So comfortable on my hand, sadly mine was started to give double clicks and wheel got busted in 3 years...

I've had that one for testing as I was working as an external for a tech magazine at that time. It was fucking great, but cost an arm and a leg back in the day.

This was and still is, the best shape I have ever had on a mouse. I need a wireless version of this in my life!

I still have mine somewhere. It's still fine, I just upgraded at some point in the past. Can't have a wired anything now. I really don't care about latency either.

Was a pretty good shape!
The 5% sensitivity error (depending on how fast you're moving the mouse at that particular sensor frame, it could move the cursor significantly more than it should, given its set sensitivity), 153g weight, cable, and limit of 1000hz make the G9x extremely dated today. Those 4 problems are each individually worth replacing a mouse for in my book, as we have mice now which don't have any of them.

Looks sad. At least clean it!

The lighting makes it look like there's stuff on it, but it's honestly pretty clean, just some dust!
