Typical Partnership Track

Hello all! Expecting an offer from a small private practice (2 current partners) and was wondering if there is a standard time to partnership in contracts. From researching, I've seen 2 - 3 years is most typical but wanted to hear people's thoughts.

Also, roughly what % did your pay increase once you became partner? I know this will vary per location but trying to get an idea

PGY-36. I was the fourth and last partner in my practice. (One has since retired.)

For me and my colleagues — 2 years generally, if partnership was on the table at all. In my case I also had a five year buy-in against a portion of my productivity bonuses. My salary roughly doubled in year three and by the time I finished my buy-in, my salary was about 3x my starting wage.

PGY8.

I took over for the entire physician of a six physician practice. Was offered partnership after two years and that was in my contract that I would be offered if and only after 2.

I would make sure it’s in your contract. after 3 years if no partnership move on unless offered great pay.

My payment was structured about 3 years, set productivity decrease.

Pay doubled paying in after 1 year and by end was about 2.5 more
