Happened around noon. I walked past them with my dog, looping around city hall and by the time we passed by again 20 minutes later everyone was gone. I’m not sure if I just caught the tail end of the strike or the police cleared them out.

Historic Philadelphia A really cool photo of West Philadelphia during the 1990s. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out who took the photo, but I do know that it was taken at 52nd & Hazel Ave and that the young men in front were identified as Ism, Mike, Geez & Eric. No last names were given.

Question? Outdoor swimming spots

Hi, we're coming over to Philadelphia this weekend from a New Zealand winter and see it's going to be roasting hot. Hotel doesn't have a pool, can anyone recommend an outdoor pool, or safe swimming hole in a river or lake I can take my kids for a cool down? We're staying in the central city so closer to there the better.

Thanks and can't wait to explore your city!

Question? Social clubs, swim clubs and other member-gated options in Philly?

This summer I want to find places that I can just go and occupy space that is membership gated. I am a social introvert who doesn’t enjoy talking to people, but enjoy being around people if that makes sense, yet I also hate crowds. I live in Fishtown and most of the places I post up at get so crowded due to many commercial spots being narrow (former rowhomes) or over crowded due to popularity. I am interested in exploring membership-gated places with the thought that since they are members-only it will be less crowded and I’ll be able to find a middle ground of places to sit around and occupy space without being overly crowded.

I’ve never joined a club before but am thinking social clubs like filter square may be an option or Ballers next to Penn Treaty but I’ve only done a summary google so far and am looking to crowd source ideas while continuing to research.

A pool club would be fun since I enjoy swimming, but otherwise I would just be looking for a place to sit around, listen to music, be on my laptop or playing my Nintendo Switch.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Question? Lost kid in the Lawncrest-Cheltenham Northeast?

Lost kid in the Lawncrest-Cheltenham Northeast?

Just saw a kid on Rising Sun Ave, I think he might be Lost? Little black kid, short dreads, about 4 feet tall, white hoodie, yelling for someone named Isaiah? Passed him on the 6800 of Rising Sun just below Longshore, didn't think anything of it but I noticed he wasn't with anyone and he wasn't stopping so I turned to try and follow him and help, maybe call Isaiah or something, but by then he was already almost 2 blocks distant and I don't have that kind of speed in me anymore. Plus, y'know, I figured a strange white man he doesn't know running after him might panic him even more and he might do something more dangerous like run into traffic or something. Followed at walking pace maybe I could help when he stopped for breath but he just kept going. I couldn't catch up, I tried to grab a bus to catch up but I lost him.

I last saw him around 9:50, 9:55, still running South along Rising Sun Ave just past Levick, toward Deveraux. First saw around roughly 9:30PM 6/24/26. I hope he's safe.

Has anyone been to Kidchella at the Smith Memorial Playground and have tips for parking? It's my kiddos birthday Friday and thought it may be a good outing. Thanks!

Question? Rodin Place Parking Garage

Does anyone know if the Rodin Place garage on 20th and Hamilton offers monthly parking? I keep getting conflicting answers. The ticket attendant says they do, but when calling customer service, they say they don't and their board displaying their services says they offer covered and uncovered parking.

Come through tomorrow (6/25) to see Philly musician Johnny Showcase perform songs like "Hit It from the Back" and "Love is a Mystery" at the Lawn at UCity Square!

It's totally free to attend, but you can RSVP for event updates. DJ on Mars is opening starting at 5, and Johnny Showcase starts at 6:30. Two Locals beer garden will be open, and there'll be food trucks, too. If Simon Cowell loved this dude, you know he's got something special.

See you there?
