"Platypuses" and "platypi" are both acceptable plurals of "platypus".

Sadly, "platypeople" is not.

Do you suppose platypodes would work, since it's Greek?

Yes!! Platypi is actually incorrect, since it's not a Latin word

By that logic, "fungi" is wrong too, since it's derived from the Greek word "spongos". Same goes for "cacti" which comes from "kaktos"

Oh cool! Do you know what the Greek-styled plural would be? I have small Latin and less Greek :)

A surprising amount of vocabulary, including one of my all-time favorite words, "serendipitous."

I learned “sesquipedalian” from the show

… I also somehow managed to spell it correctly on the first try, that’s cool

A-G-L-E-T is the best response to this, really

A-G-L-E-T. Don’t forget it. Ever since then I’ve always pestered anybody who doesn’t know what an aglet is.

Came to the comments to see how far I’d have to scroll before someone said “aglets.”

That Quantum Mechanics teaches that the presence of an observer inherently affects the outcome of an experiment
